Could anyone tell me what the meaning behind the song is? To me it sounds as if the singer has died, and this is the process from going to the afterlife to meet the ones who were gone before him, and that's why he is going home.

I was wondering the same thing, to me this song is about venturing out of your country of origin maybe because you had an job opportunity or perhaps you moved out of state with a loved one or something. But his new life isn’t going as planned and so he is burdened with all the stress and worry of trying to make this new life work, so he is constantly missing home where everything was flowing and working for him. Maybe I’m not thinking deeply enough on this song. But it’s such a beautiful song none the less.
