Hibakusha testimonies | Michiyo Yoshimoto | Hiroshima (Original Japanese with Subtitles)

Michiyo Yoshimoto, 15 years old at the time, describes having to work as a nurse in Hiroshima the day after the atomic bombing. She suffered serious effects from drinking contaminated water as she struggled to save the victims. (Interview conducted by the Soka Gakkai Women’s Peace Committee in 2005.)
The book Hiroshima and Nagasaki: That We Never Forget contains the testimonies of over 50 hibakusha that were collected by the Soka Gakkai Youth Division and published in 2017. It is available as a free pdf download:
