Sir, the connection of CT should be opposite to transformer connection but within CT which side is to be taken for neutral and which side for connecting the pilot wires? How to know

Sir, As you said the Differential protection can not protect the transformer from external fault but there is a chance that the fault can damage the transformer . So what kind of protection should we use to protect the transformer from external fault. Should you use earth fault protection scheme ?
