Sir how to identify whether exicter field winding or armature winding is good or not. If either of the one is not good then alternator will be tripped on reverse reactance

Thank you. Sir, please make a video for , I observed that 1500 rpm Generator (15 MW) has 4 pole but its exciter has 12 pole.

Thank you for your lectures sir , they are very helpful in understanding concepts clearly. My doubts are : Why the rotor winding is not generally grounded? What happens if we connect it to the ac ground?

Sir, why field is always excited with DC only? What happened if excited with AC??
@mrityunjoybhattacharjee84724 жыл бұрын
When conductors cut magnetic flux at 90° emf induced is maximum because of flux cutting is maximum due to the flux is DC flux (constant, not changeable.)That mean conductors will cut the flux must be a not changeable value .In case of AC , generated output voltage will not be sinusoidal because AC current flux always changeable.
