Sgraffito - Tutorial of polymer clay [Sub] | Ana Belchí

Hello! Today I bring you a project that will surely take you back to your school days.
I'm sure that, wherever you're from, in your childhood, you once painted a piece of paper with lots of colours, then covered it with black and finally, with the help of a toothpick, drew shapes that revealed a multicoloured pattern.
I remember those works almost like magic.
That technique is called sgraffito and today I'll show you how to do a variant using polymer clay and alcohol inks.
And while I'm at it, I want you to watch the whole video because somewhere in the middle, I've left you an Easter egg.

Always delightful and inspiring!!! I appreciate you show how to finish the back with just always so polished and lovely. Details!!! I still love the sgraffito technique as an adult, but never would have thought to use it with polymer clay and black alcohol ink. I am also thoroughly intrigued by that drill accessory that leveled out the full round spot on the back! I saw it demonstrated with a full size drill press, but that tiny scale has me scrambling to figure out what it's called specifically and find it near me.😋 Thank you so much for sharing. Wow! I luvluvluv this technique. Honestly, I had forgotten about this. This is reminiscent of the scratch sheets we made in art class in primary school, when I was a kidl. We used oil pastel and ink on glossy paper and let them dry. Then we drew by making scratches in the ink layer. It's similar to making etching plates.😃 FUN!

The firulillos look like threads embedded in sheets of handcrafted paper. I'm glad you shared this reuse of the scraps. Sustainability includes minimizing waste materials. 💥

Gracias! Siempre me preguntaba que se hacía con los restos del lijado, me preocupaba. La técnica de los firulillos se parece a condimentar las preparaciones, por como queda y por como agarras las "pizcas" de material...
