In my '18 F-150, I ran 1/0 awg power AND ground cables up the driver's side rocker channel, and through the existing grommet to the left of the brake pedal. I agree that it's best to run the ground directly to the battery on these bonded aluminum trucks. But I disagree with running the cable outside/underneath the vehicle. There's no need to accept the risks associated with running the cable underneath the truck, when running the cables as I described is so easily attainable. I don't want to sound like a Keyboard Warrior, and sit here criticizing people. My preference for power/ground cable routing is nothing more than that; MY preference. These guys at Sounds Good are obviously highly skilled. If there was a problem running cables outside, they would know. I'm a skilled fabricator and engineer, and I have my own way of doing things. That said, I may have to make a copy of the sub enclosure they built for this Raptor. I built a 1.1 cu*ft sealed enclosure for a single Rockford T1S2-12. I didn't raise the backseat, so the enclosure was a tricky build. But I'm thinking about building one of these ported 6.5 enclosures, because these videos have inspired me.

@@SoundsGoodStereo heyyy!!! Lol Happy to see that y'all replied.(although I wasn't expecting you to) I've been looking for a different car audio show to watch because the others that I'm subscribed to just ain't hitting on much, for one reason or another. Your show recently showed up on my feed and I've watched about 6-7 episodes. The Titan and the Raptor build. GREAT WORK!!! EXCITED TO SEE WHATS NEXT!!! THANKS

I really like the work and the detail you put into it. I'm looking to buy a F150 3.5 EcoBoost. Might be worth the drive or shipping to get it done there.

looking at how high that Focal amps is sitting , I can 100% guarantee the back of the seat its rubbing on the amps when the bottom seat its pulled up. I arranged my amps with the seat in its regular position everything cleared perfect. Then realized when the bottom part is lifted the back of the seat swivels up and back... leaving almost no space back there. Luckily the back of the seat is cushioned and prob wont cause any damage to the seat and or gear.
@SoundsGoodStereo2 жыл бұрын
Yes, the top amplifier does touch the seat and we had to make several unique brackets to make it work and minimize the “rub”. Since this build, we have changed the gear and have found ways to improve performance, with better utilization of behind the seat space. Did you run new speaker wires through doors directly to speaker or just to the back of the head unit. Thanks
@SoundsGoodStereo Жыл бұрын
Use as much of the factory wiring as possible. No benefits to new wire, but we also do not splice any wires.. So sometimes we run new wires due to the lack of plugs for the factory connector
@jeffp5894 Жыл бұрын
@Sounds Good Stereo Thanks for the response. Do you offer a harness with a plug to get the speakers from back of radio to behind seat to amps that will eliminate splices?

Nice work 👌. Where exactly are you bringing the power & ground wires into the cab? Also do you recommend any particular bulkhead fittings for them?
@SoundsGoodStereo4 жыл бұрын
If you could imagine where the power/ground distribution block is on our amplifier board, it’s right there. The fittings we use are what we call glands and are designed for 1/0 cable, screw tight and internal sealing. I’ll try to get a photo and post it on our website for you to see. Thanks for checking out the video!! You can see all of the parts we build on our website FYI.

for this much of a system did you guys have to put a bigger alternator on? any capacitors?
@SoundsGoodStereo4 жыл бұрын
In this vehicle, front to back power/ground copper wiring. But stock alternator, stock battery. Remember its all about efficiency of the speakers, subwoofer enclosure, amplifiers, etc to not waste electrical energy. The voltage was stable and no need in this case to upgrade the stock electrical.

Does the seat hit the top of the amps where it locks in to place? I imagine with the slope of the seat it must be quite tight up top

In this setup, it was very tight up there. Alot of re-positioning. In our plug and play packages, it fits perfect. soundsgoodstereo.com/

Is that entire system going to be ran off 1 battery
@SoundsGoodStereo4 жыл бұрын
Yes, factory battery with upgrade 1/0 copper wiring throughout (front to back 1/0 grounds) Voltage is stable, no concerns. A lot of this has to do with the chosen amplifiers and the way they operate. High efficiency amplifiers, high-efficiency speakers all optimized for maximum performance with the Mosconi DSP / RTA / Oscilloscope.
@SoundsGoodStereo4 жыл бұрын
Also, the new Raptors have a great electrical system from factory. I guess they assumed customers would add 13 LED light bars and LED lights everywhere. One of the better newer vehicle charging systems..
