Sgt. Slaughter on The Iron Sheik being haunted by his daughter's murder

Even though The Iron Sheik was beloved by one and all, he carried a heavy burden. His daughter had been murdered by a young man, which sent him spiraling, according to his real-life close friend Sgt. Slaughter. Slaughter remembers how Sheik wanted revenge on his daughter's killer. It was he who demanded he let the law take its course. In fact, Sheik started doing heavy drugs following the incident. He even told Slaughter that he couldn't sleep.
In his final moments, The Iron Sheik told all present that he wanted to be reunited with his daughter.

That's so heartbreaking. Nobody should have to deal with what the Sheik went through. I don't blame him for how he handled it, there's really no correct way to respond to such a tragedy. It's good that he managed to find some peace in the end.

Oh yeah, I just have my one and only child which is my daughter and I couldn't imagine how I'd react to my daughter being murdered. A father is the protector of his daughter and I know I'd be devastated being in The Iron Sheiks position when realizing my daughter was murdered by another man and I wasn't there to be able to protect her. My heart cried when I understood what he experienced.

Sgt. Slaughter was one of the coolest wrestlers to meet. I got to meet him at WrestleCon in Dallas about a year ago. I had to ask him how he got the name "Sgt. Slaughter". Very nice guy. I honestly didn't know Slaughter and Iron Sheik became Christians. That's awesome to hear. John 14:6
