For me, Billy Mackenzie had the best voice of all time. There has been no-one before or since to even touch him.

I find this quite upsetting - How could someone that beautiful, that talented ever come to the conclusion that he did? Do we really know anyone at all? Twenty years gone in 2017 - Just listen to that desolate final note and you realise what has been lost.

One of my favourite Bowie tracks - and I'm reeling from his death yesterday - but Billy's version is even better: another heartbreaking loss, nearly 20 years now. :(
@rsmith79127 жыл бұрын
This is just one beautiful song that no one seems to mess up. Johnny Mathis , Nina Simone, Billy, Bowie and George Michael all did great versions of it and I'm sure there are many more. If there's anyone out there that could put them all together that would be some choir of angels. I can imagine all of them singing it together up there in the wind and the clouds somewhere.....

Hey cool it with the wig business. Think about what can be salvaged from this man. I will personally never forget this great man. Not only did he have a voice to die for but he wrote some beautiful songs too.

That was a wig. Bono of U2 in a book said he tried to copy Billy Mackenzie's style. he had one of most unique and powerful voices in popular music. He had more talent in his short life than you have have in your little finger Adam. RIP Billy Mackenzie can't believe it's 20 years on the 22nd January 2017 since you tragically left.
@seigneurjesuistoipshaw.53597 жыл бұрын
MegaDJmixmaster A "wig"...? Get out of here, I thought it was a guinea pig! 😀 Luckily for Bono, he never mastered his style.🙀 imagine where he would be today? 💀And I really have to agree with you about his "talent" comparision; his short life and my little finger... 😄😅😆😅😆😄😄

Easy to see you live up to your name Adam B'stard. Billy was a wonderful person and you certainly are not judging by your comments. There were far more artists in the early 80's who tried to copy Billy's style but could never come near his vocals and his talent. You Adam are a chunt. Bowie even praised Billy's versions of his songs.

"Too much sentiment"? Such a ridiculous thing to say. He's a torch-singer, for godsakes. A crooner. It's not for nothing he wrote for Shirley Bassey. He's not Mark E. Smith.

@caltontongs73 I'd always presumed the dreadful wig to be a wee joke on Billy's part. Billy is beautiful, with or without hair. :-)

Scott Walker meets Jeff Buckley in the dark room. Just joking. I have been in love with his voice and music for since the mid80s now. Bowie´s version of this Toimkin classic is rather different but also very good if not better. From Billie i prefer Gloomy sunday. i won´t get much glommier than than that. Lush fin de siecle - perfect if you think about drowing yourself
