It's great fun to watch this video! Jerry is always brave to try everything and I'd rather just watch the video and see Jerry's reaction. :-) Thank you for sharing these experiences!

the spiky yellow thing is called a Kiwano, and yeah, it doesn't really have much flavour. it can be a tiny bit sweet when it's really ripe but mostly, it's not too different than a cucumber. i just eat it with a spoon, no honey. and tamarind is really good. although usually it's made into sauce or added to soup/curry. the bulbous green one you like the most is probably a sweetsop(cousin of soursop). they're also a new world fruit from the Caribbeans and Central America. now if you can find Salak (蛇皮果 snake skin fruit in Chinese), now that's also really good.
Thank you for your knowledgeable suggestions. I am a fruit lover, and I am curious about trying all kinds of fruits. You help me a lot to learn about tropical fruits.

The fruit you ate before the mango and found it delicious is called custard apple. The fruit is easy to break open with bare hands when it is ripe. You can easily split it into two halves, then use a spoon to scoop up the flesh. Forget the stone and the skin :)
That most delicious fruit is custard apple...my favourite fruit...it's sweet and has a delicate fragrance. Birds love this fruit, they also help to propagate them. I have a tree in my garden, propagated by birds...
I'm surprised you never saw them in supermarkets in the US before. I tried everything except the tasteless one. The sweet one, the ginseng one, and the date looking one all from Chinese markets, the yellow one in a chain grocery store for regular American people, and it was really sour.

m gq Nope. They do exist in Chinatown but many appears in Hispanic markets. Based on White American's fond of Hispanic food they'd definitely seen one before, including the so-called "tasteless" one.
