So, if I’m being completely honest, this SH Figuarts One Piece Roronoa Zoro Wano Arc. Action Figure is absolutely disappointing. I had very high expectations and I can’t believe that I was let down this much. I knew that this figure wasn’t going to be anything exceptional, but I was never expecting it to be this bad. This figure is absolutely plagued with problems, and the one piece line is truly beginning to worry me. From this point forward their releases are going to have to be more than just on par with their other lines before people start to lose interest very quickly. These figures are quite expensive and there is no excuse whatsoever for them to have these problems. They really need to correct these sooner rather than later before this line ends up dying once again. lately ive been jokingly saying that its like figuarts have ai design their stuff instead of people as it makes no sense to me how one figure can be so brilliantly engineered and quality and the next be such a total mess. its like a total random chance of greatness and pure trash. Someone in Tamashii nations clearly has a favorite when it comes to the big 3 lol. So far seeing the Naruto, bleach and one piece lines it’s clear which one has been done the best. They’ve been knocking it out of the part with the Naruto releases. All of them a relatively cheap and come with a great amount of articulation and accessories. Then we have bleach and one piece and they barely come with much, can barely pose in some cases, and cost the same amount. Really a big disappointment, especially since these are some huge series that haven’t had 1/12 figures in a long time. I’m just glad these aren’t their best designs cause I wasn’t gonna get them anyways(waiting for their early looks). All we can do now is pray the same people from the Naruto figures start working their magic on everything sh figuarts is making.

naruto is actually the best anime figures shf has to offer they are super great to play with and are so rich with accessories (even the $35 ones which they usually skimp on), actually mind boggling how they didn’t even put an ounce of that effort into their one piece figures so far luffy not even being able to bend his legs 90 degrees is actually atrocious and idk how they decided that was passable articulation for a literal rubber man, on top of that he can’t even do ANY of his signature moves 💀 what a joke

@@Jvm-iq2qe almost feels like they want this line to fail lmao, it’s missing so many key things and what we do have is lacking at best, then they have the nerve to add BAF pieces to entice us to buy figures that are likely to have just as many if not more issues based on this zoro lmao. and it’s so frustrating bc i’ve seen most of the issues these figures have executed well by SHF themselves so i literally have no idea what happened for these figures to end up this way. i just really hope by the time we get to the new world rendition of the characters they actually decide to get their act together (assuming this line even makes it to that point which i hope they do), the MxW productions addons look really cool but i don’t wanna pay the price of the figure to get what i shoulda had to begin with and it doesn’t fix the core issues with the figure either.

@@leebreath2425I think you guys are forgetting though it’s the same company it’s not the same licenses and not the exact same sculptors working on every line I think the bleach and one piece crew are limited as well these characters are way more exaggerated and more uniquely clothed than naruto so you already at a disadvantage for saving money on sculpting

While I agree the Naruto figures are the best, and the Bleach figures are light on accessories. They still have good articulation and QC. Renji is possibly the most underrated figure of the year so far, there's nothing wrong with that line so far IMO. Maybe they just hate One Piece lol.

Thanks for the great review. I hope the OP line doesn't die again. Based on a few reviews, Tamashii are 2 for 2, both Luffy and Zoro have some stupid engineering choices made for them, a swordsman with limitations on articulation, shoulders, robe and a rubberman who can barely bend his knees making his iconic poses very difficult to achieve. Why are they making these rookie mistakes? They know better, we've seen them do better, do they have a team of amateurs working on the OP line? With Luffy you can claim the excuse of budget but Zoro is full price. Luffy just needs a new lower body and proper hat and its a great base figure, Zore needs better shoulder butterfly joints, soft plastic like Sasuke and slightly better elbow bends, these shouldn't be issues at this point.

suguru geto shf has a skirt piece that similar like zoro. I was hoping shf would of used the same soft thin plastic. My zoro is in the mail. I guess ill get to experience him falling apart soon. Thanks for the review and the scaling portion is exceptionally great.

Looks like super glue would be Zoro’s best friend here. I just got Luffy yesterday and I’m very happy with him. Yeah, the knee articulation is disappointing but for the poses I usually do it doesn’t bother me to be honest. This Zoro however.. and the worst thing is he looks so damn good, I love that pose at the end, so I might still get him at some point. The one I’m most excited about is Gear 5 Luffy. That one will decide if I continue this line

Also I am going to trim the crotch part. What a shame for the one piece line. Maybe tamashii stop dropping figures every week and check your quality on the figures.

Wanna know what the crazy thing is? I had picked up the SHF Vicious from Cowboy Bebop and he had the exact same issue with his arms AND legs… The moment I took him out of the package, his head wasn’t actually on so I had to peg on his head which was a challenge of its own. And then when I started to pose him, his arms and legs came off instantly. Luckily I bought him straight from a local anime shop in town, so I took his ass right back in and exchanged him for another figure. Fast forward to today, I picked up Zoro and spent a good 20 mins posing him and swapping out faces and such and I’ve gotta say that so far… I don’t have any issues with him yet.

This figure was such a disappointment. I understand the limited leg articulation, but there was zero reason to make the shoulders that bad; I can’t for the life of me understand why they engineered them that way. He looks fantastic on display, but posing him around is a pain.

@@Runmindor yea it isn’t 1:1 but the idea is they could have at the very least done the bare minimum and made it soft plastic. and some of the major issues with luffy were are least partially worked around with his imagination works variant so i really don’t know how SHF is dropping the ball this hard. customs artists are really doing what they can to elevate these figures to where they should be at and i respect and admire their work, but the idea of expecting to buy a figure and usually having to pay at least double the price to actually get the figure i should have gotten from the beginning will be tiring if it’s what we should expect from this line and that idea has made me really apprehensive in purchasing them for both luffy and zoro.

I had to take one of the skirt pieces off of mine. Less accurate but at least I can move his legs around now without the torso popping off. Gotta be one of the worst figuarts I've ever owned in terms of articulation but it looks nice.

This is really disappointing to see. I'mma get him anyway because it's Zoro, and I hope I'm wrong, but maybe Tamashii Nations knew it would be a big seller no matter what so they put less effort in, but they've made some really weird design and articulation choices with these One Piece figures so far. I got Gabimaru yesterday, and the articulation and build quality on that guy is superb. Why can't this level of quality translate to One Piece. For Zoro, all they had to do was copy the upper body joints from Renji, and use the soft plastic material they used on Sasuke, and this figure would've been a solid gold banger.

The figure and the box art promo look way different. The head is sitting too high on the neck and his shoulders don't look as broad. Makes him look kind of scrawny in comparison.
