@@adfadfadfadf-t6d Even before WW2, the Emperor haven’t been having political power so much. I have no image of emperor = evil. I think that the most famous, powerful and evil emperor was Godaigo(1288-1339). He selfishly confused the citizens and the governments for his own power. At the time samurai era, 征夷大将軍(the most powerful shogun) were basically like prime ministers. Since the Meiji era (1890), there have been elections. The emperor just gives his consent to the decisions made by the parliament. He cannot deny what the government decides, however he had to be responsible for it. Actually some emperors were used by governments in bad ways for some points in history. People know how the system works, so we criticize the politicians or the government, not him. As one of Japanese, I personally think that the worst part of WW2(1933 to 1945 for Japan) for Japan was they had the lack of political power and negotiation power, so the government's couldn’t control their army and navy, and let them run amok and could not stop them. vicious media Incitement was bad too. If you can switch it to your language, I recommend this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/iaO1ZHeigbl7osksi=Kg0HeNlPJeN5cy2z . You see how chaotic the government and the military were. You can also see how much the emperor hadn’t intervened in politics. He only lends his name to the law, and politicians the one who use the law. I know that people who don’t know about Japan say that the Emperor Hirohito was a bad guy for ww2, but it’s practically pointless, not so simple. The real issue was another things as I said.
