I remember in 1984, when I was on the way to Sendai by train with 2 friends, unfortunately we dropped off one stop earlier, then we spent HK$ 200. worth for a taxi to get to Sendai. / after the sightseeing, shopping and eating, we were scratching our head how to get back to where we started, then I asked the train driver, he said with simple English, “ come pleasssssse”, he was racewalking like in Olympic Games rapidly to the lower level platform that the right train we should take, and bent his body down politely, touching us deeply. Considering he left his train behind to show us the train down stairs. No matter that’s the terminal or with passengers on board.

Thanks for sharing your story. That's so heartwarming! Many Japanese people I met were also very polite. Perhaps you'll have the chance to visit Sendai again and perhaps even see that kind train driver. It's heartwarming to hear stories like this.
