美女と天狗を先頭に神輿行列が始まります。途中、美女たちが、酒、昆布、スルメを振る舞われます。
The portable shrine procession begins with beautiful women and tengu leading the procession. During the procession, beautiful women are served sake, kelp, and surume (dried squid).
This festival has continued for 1,500 years, and is a ritual to pray for a bountiful harvest, the nurturing of all things, and the prosperity of descendants.
1500年前から続くこの祭りは、五穀豊穣、万物の育成、子孫繁栄を祈る神事である。
The Toyonen Matsuri (harvest festival) dedicated to "Oo-Owase-gata," a cypress wood carving, was held at the Tagata Shrine in Komaki City, Aichi Prefecture, on the 15th. The festival is recognized around the world as a strange festival and seems to have attracted 45,000 (according to the shrine announcement) spectators.
