We're looking at the modern China where technology is at its best. Where economy is fast moving up and high rise buildings add magnificence in the downtown areas. I would love to see China today! Oh, I just love the Christmas atmosphere everywhere esp houses and buildings with decorations and lots of colorful dancing lights. I love the smell of fresh Fall and Winter air. I wish I see Shanghai in November or December month.

Christmas is slowly getting popular in Shanghai.

In fact, the Christmas atmosphere has become much less popular in China in the last few years, except for some international companies, most shopping mall and stores no longer have Christmas decoration and sales!
@MightySteve0013 жыл бұрын
@@木目王丁 It's a pity. Christmas is celebrated throughout the world. Hong Kong and Singapore use it to boost sales.

@@MightySteve001 In the context of China and US disputes, China has to re-examine the cultural input from the Western countries and develop its own cultural potential. Chinese people love Western culture and have created the custom of eating apples on Christmas Eve, because the translation of Christmas Eve sounds similar to the Chinese word for apple. However, the hostility of the Western has forced Chinese to abandon their fondness.
@MightySteve0013 жыл бұрын
@@木目王丁 You made a statement that 'hostility of the Western has forced Chinese to abandon their fondness'. That all the more reason why the 'common people' should resist this hostility' and remain close contact and friends. It only certain politicians who want to further their career pushes this hostility agenda especially media. The pandemic only exacerbate the problem and made the hostilities worse. Don't allow a certain politician to have their way. Majority of people in the west don't see Chinese as untrustworthy. Only small minority ignorant, bigotry, racist people shout the loudest, unfortunately. In the west, the lantern festival is gaining popular all the time. So let keep the good tradition alive and help spread a better understanding of each other culture. A little history about Christmas. It was originally a pagan festival to celebrate the shorters night and the beginning of longer days. Religion hijacked this and made it own to celebrate the birth of Christ. Christmas only got started when Charles Dickens wrote a book, Christmas Carol. The rest is history. Religion is now secondary important and business has now taken over. Happy pagan day

Christmas was always popular in Shanghai, I remembered I joined 5 Christmas Eve parties that night in Shanghai back in 1998, all of them have big bands and hot girls dancing performances, tones of booze and banquets in different plazas on Huaihai road with party jack pot like a 3 bed room apartment to the first price winner, the parties fees were like RMB 888~8888 a person then, the real fun was inside.
Christmas was over 😪 Happy new year 2021 😃 May 2021 will be a great , glory and effulgent year to everyone all over the world 😃 I hope it will be a effulgent year 😄 In Japan , there are 12 signs of the Chinese zodiac for each year , and this year is the year of the Ox . And i'm a Ox for the sixth time , I'm 72 years old ( 12× 6)

Basically the place looks like before. It is developed by a Hong Kong businessman. The guy makes tons of money from the item. He is lucky meeting good chance and good era.
Dear chinese all, stop copying always the others.... in this case japanese. There is no Christmas atmosphere AT ALL in Shanghai and that includes also the related lights, completely absent in the 99% of the city. 1% of the city is not representative of the entire city. You should remove "Christmas" from the title. Chinese always alter reality to their advantage.

LMAO is Celebrating Christmas an ADVANTAGE? It's pathetic to be offended by this title. Of course not all Shanghai people celebrate Christmas, and then what?
@ironmike95443 жыл бұрын
Japan didn't invent Christmas and don't celebrate it either as they're mostly Buddhists/Shinto
