Would like to share the misconception on Singlish. I believe it's pretty rare for local nurses and doctors to use Singlish during work as they are in a professional setting. Furthermore, there are many foreigners working as healthcare workers over here due to the lack of local manpower. Thus, it only make sense if proper English is spoken to ensure everyone gets the message. However, we have to bear in mind that health workers especially the nurses can come from India, mynmar, China etc. So, singlish might be used by them if their English isn't proficient enough. On the other hand, there's a higher possibility that patients might use Singlish if some are already used to speaking it. Therefore, nurses might have to use Singlish to communicate with those patients in order to attune to them.
