EL. DORADO(1987)_SEI-KIMA II (THE END OF THE CENTURY) Released on March 21, 1987 Third single Written by Demon Kogure, Composed by Demon Kogure and Luke Takamura, Arranged by SEI KIMA II (English translation of rough Japanese lyrics) In the blinding light, The earth, which should not really be visible, Lies before our eyes in a spectral manner A line of red sunbeams is shining down on it As if inviting and beckoning us to come The island shines a glamorous shadow on a sea of illusions Emerging from the memories of our old legends Silently sinking into the sea, A land like a fantasy An unknown island that will never be reached The closer we get to it, the more it lulls us into unconsciousness and sleep. It exudes a beautiful warmth. In the middle of it, there is a mysterious golden castle Hurry ,Go on, go on, We must get there before you lose sight of it. Hurry ,Go on, go on, It's the El Dorado you've been dreaming of! Oh, I'm so afraid to even blink I want to stare at this place for a long time An island of endless dreams And hopes for thousands of years Vanished in a single night Leaving behind a false smile I wonder when this golden land of El Dorado will begin to float again Ah, Hurry ,Go on, go on, Reach it before we lose sight of it Hurry ,Go on, go on, You must get there before it disappears Hurry ,Go on, go on, The land of our dreams, To the land of gold... Ace Shimizu: Guitar, Vocal, “SEI-KI・MA II” means a term coined by applying the same-sounding Kanji to the Japanese “End-of-Century” phonetic readings(Seikimatsu). The meanings of the kanji are, in order from left to right: "聖:SEI" = holy, "飢:KI" = hungry, and "魔:MA" = devil. When read as a whole, the word is a contrivance, but it means " The Holy, Hungry Devil, Jr”.
