Lol at all these white privileged people in the comments trying to prove that it isn't really about race. You are precisely why this poem is needed

Watching the comments on this video just proves we need more dialogue. I'm not sure what the presidency has to do with the argument we intended to make by documenting our experiences.
@kurtkretschmann6229 жыл бұрын
Alysia Harris you could try starting the dialogue instead of spouting racist crap and acting out on stage like an emotional gestating preggo.

In America the treatment of black people by white people has been a cause for concern ever since the Pilgrims landed on Plymouth Rock. In my very humble opinion racism in America has three levels. The first level is the racist thought (to sit in judgment is the beginning of all forms of oppression). The second level is the racist act (violence, discrimination etc.). The third level is the cover up of the racist act where the people who protest against racism are vilified and the racist act is justified. I truly believe that blacks in America don't hate white people we hate racism.

Unfortunately I see a lot of people with questions where is the oppression, I thought the US gave blacks more opportunities. The US is a falling country, even other ethnicities are having problems with these same types of benefits. There is no such thing as race but what was created by man to make another feel less than another and the fact that we have to even differentiate that states that the problem still exists. One always wants to make another feel less so that he can uplift himself. So many people in the upper classes are afraid of passing anything to the lower classes because the feel they will loose power. Color of skin is slowly diminishing as the problem and if the world refuse to open their eyes to see, it will be too late and the same oppression that is happening to those with more melanin in their skin will then turn to all that dont live in the right town, or wear the right clothes, because they don't have enough money (Upper Class).

Poems like this, watching interviews, racial profiling experiment videos, watching Django Unchained/The Help ALL recreate the anger i've been trying to suppress, they never help me heal.. So my question is what can we do about these things? The problems are always addressed, explained to a T. but how are we supposed to deal with the anger? how do we heal from these kinds of wounds?
