My mom tells me that that means there is wine in heaven. LOL

And there is actually a verse in one of the Gospels that says, "John the Baptist came not eating or drinking and you called him a madman. I grew up in a small town in Georgia and most of this is 100% accurate. My mom and my aunt are now in their 70s, but they still hold all of the traditional beliefs about women's roles in society. If a woman is still single after age 30 they will say "She never got married, did she?" And if a couple has been married for 5 years or more and is still childless they will say "They never had any kids, did they?" My mom still doesn't believe women should hold jobs after getting married. And yes, any time she is introduced to someone one of the first questions she asks is what church they attend. I once introduced her to one of my co-workers who is gay and she asked if he was married. When he replied that he was gay she just said "You're just confused because you haven't met the right girl yet. But I'll be praying for you."

Yes, I have a crazy fanatically religious aunt whom nobody can stand. Unless you are a member of her exact denomination, she thinks you’re hell-bound. She won’t discuss religion, but she always needles (harasses) by slyly saying at parting, “I’m STILL praying for you.” She’s been doing it to me for 40 years, and it still pisses me off every time. I am eternally grateful that I only see her on rare occasions at funerals. Oh, my family and I cannot have answering machines or voicemail on phone numbers she knows, otherwise we’ll get a message, “(our name), Jesus told me to tell you . . .” As you can imagine our family conspires to keep our telephone numbers and email addresses away from her! My wife and I throw away her Christmas cards unopened, for we know they will contain a bunch of her religious rigamarole.

Well. I was going to watch the new videos, then I thought, "Why not watch every single video, starting at the very beginning?" Yes, I've watched each video 15 times already, but they're sooo good! You don't turn down a slice of your Mama's buttermilk pound cake just because you've eaten it every year since your baby teeth came in, do you? Of course not! So here I am at Episode 1...again! ♥️♥️♥️

so many of my fellow canadians think the southern drawl on a lady is so unattractive and uncivilized... i worked for a company here in calgary that had a branch in georgia, and when their secretary called (for business purposes) i could listen to that georgia peach talk for weeks and never grow tired of it, if THAT is 'trailer trash' well than hitch me up. *y'all talk real purdy...if you got eyes to match that voice i'm gonna be in a whole heap o' trouble, babydoll*

That's where half of it started. DAYUM- YA'LL -HE BE-I BE-WE BE-FIXIN' TO OR FINNA etc etc. A lot is from the south. So many people don't realize, born in Detroit thinking it's a black thing but...it's a Southern thing.

Yeah, Was born in Alabama and lived here all my life. Lots of change as far as accents in Bham metro area too many people from other places. Still pretty much the same when you get a bit further out into Chilton county and such. I try to keep some of the old phrases of my parents and grandparents alive.

When I lived in the deep south, I started to say "I'm fixin' to..." all the time. Great stuff! I remember people calling shopping carts "buggies" and my neighbors had a big old Chevy SUV 4x4 (before they were trendy) that they called "the rig" ("Me n Willy gon' take out the reeyg.") But taking out the rig didn't mean 4-wheeling and dirt peeling. They meant they were going to go out for the day or run errands. But they didn't "run errands" they 'took out the rig".
@JingoPoe10 жыл бұрын

I call my husband daddy.. Mainly when I am talking to my kids and him at the same time. Or threatening them with "Yea just wait till I tell daddy what you said/did.." you see.. Or "Go ask daddy what he wants for dinner" etc you get the idea. I literally never think of sexuality when I use daddy.. Lmao I think it is just easier for my 2 year old and 15 year old if I say "daddy" when referring to my husband. Rather than calling him by his name.. "Son go ask Rico if he is ready to eat" my son would be like WHO??? Lol idk if my 2 year old knows me and his daddys actual names. Lol

Gatlinburg, TN is also a very nice spot to visit. It's not too far from Pigeonforge, where Dollywood is, which is lots of fun. If you love history and old houses, I would recommend Natchez, MS. You could run up to Vicksburg for an afternoon and drive through the battlefield. Then again, you could cheat and just go to Disneyworld in Orlando, FL where there are more Yankees and foreigners than actual Southern people.
