@gabriellawhite72252 жыл бұрын
@@tioswift3676 well, in the black community we try to celebrate people like to her to not only give another figure for our young athletes but also to show that we are here and supporting her. It means more than you make think for some. Especially with the transphobic and racist comments under this video. It’s not meant to make you angry, or to make other feel inferior, but to uplift and send positivity to this young woman. It’s fine if you don’t completely get that, but hopping to caps which I’m perceiving as frustration/anger, is normal when we think about statements like this as one dimensional when it’s speaking to multiple issues at once (intersectionality of representation for black youth, women, athletic women, pushing back on the stigma around black women like her who’s femininity can be attack because she’s thought of as masculine -which is born out of a plethora of stereotypes- and whatnot). And at the end of the day, sure she is a woman who is an athlete, but the world will always see her as a black woman who’s an athlete. It’s a part her story, who she is, how her journey has progressed. To ignore something so obvious, while well-meaning, is useless. So yeah. She is a beautiful black queen, and she deserves regardless of accomplishments, to be viewed that way.
