Shabani is by far the smartest male gorilla that is in a zoo atleast. He knows his duties as a father, he works with the zoo keepers very well and hes a big calm fella whi doesn't lose his cool like Momotaro or Oumbi would. I would love to give him a hug and then he would probably pick me up and flip me on my head then runaway and play chase which I would do after I woke up from being knocked out.

You are not kidding, hes my favorite (look at my thumbnail, lol) , theres also "Momataro" at another Japanese zoo. SHABANI my favorite., Momataro is also awesome, bigger back, rib cage, but hes handsome like Shabani almost. And a REALLY GOOD DAD, LIKE SHABANI. HE has 2 sons now, hes 21 ish, Shabanis 20 ish, hes been watching his boys, staring at them with his head on his folded arms, like we do, and play fight like Shabani, they curb their strength SOOO MUCH, THEY COULD CRUSH THEM BY ACCIDENT. WESTERN LOW LAND GORILLAS ARE MY FAVORITE! MOUNTAIN GORILLAS ARE COOL AS WELL, LONG HAIR, LITTLE DIFFERENT!

I know, right, I'm convinced I could enter the area, and after a lot of worry, theyll see my respect, people do that in the wild, Gorillas have no natural fear of humans, and they let people sit near them, and some people spent weeks, after days of respect, they let them so close , I seen a human playing with a baby gorilla, the SILVERBACK head of the troop, wasnt even concerned, such love and respect.

Shabani is awesome, his kids didn’t run when he went over to the zoo keeper. If that was Momo his kids would of ran before he was 10 feet away. Shabani truly is one of a kind. I wish they had more enrichment for them. ❤️🦍

Momotaro is learning more and more how to be a caring dad. He didn't grow up with a dad, plus Shabani is older. They are like us humans, everyone has their own personality - Momotaro is reserved and Shabani is playful.

Momotaro didn't really have anyone to play with to show him. He was what, 8 or 9 when Momoko had Komomo? Shortly after, maybe two years he was gone to Kyoto to become a dad himself. He didn't have a brother that was only a few years older like Shabani.

ずっと昔に見た写真だけど、アフリカで殺されたゴリラを担架を作って運ぶのがありました。 キングコングのお話が出来るのが納得出来るほど、信じられない位大きくて、殺されたのと大きいのにショックを受けました。 アフリカゾウもそうだけど、ゴリラももしかして小さくなっているのでは？特別大きくなる遺伝子を持った個体が減っているのでは？
