I've refinished 1000's of pieces of wicker/rattan over 30 years. 1. Remove the mirror 2. Clean the wicker like mark did 3. Use a spray gun with a latex semi gloss, 1/3 warm water, 2/3 paint. 2-3 thin coats. 4. If not, use acrylic gloss enable, available everywhere in 100's of colors for about 5 bucks a can. 5. Start by painting your piece upside down. You'll be amazed at how much you missed when you turn it right-side up. 6. Lightly brush off any excess 10 minutes after you spray it.

How do you restore or repair , loose or broken pieces. Is a protective top coat recommended.

You google wicker repair supplies. No protective coat is needed if you use a water base finishing paint. Eggshell, satin, semi, high gloss are all fine depending on your tastes.

I was just checking out some vids. The wicker bedroom pieces I have are in great shape, just need to be cleaned like you did. I was gonna use a pressure washer, but I guess I can use a brush, just soap and water... and I def wanted to use spray paint gun? Is that not recommended? Is it just preference? Obviously would go much faster.

Spray gun is 1000x more effective. The dude in this video is an amateur. Thin latex paint about 35% water / 65% paint. 2 coats minimum, turn the piece upside down first.

Can u tell me wat paint is used for a wicker basket.. should b it Acrylic or oil paint.

He said it was a water based paint....i just use chalk paint or clay based by DIY.

@Lynne Fabian Wire brush and pressure wash at the car wash. Let dry in the sun.
