Shabby Chic Projects for Spring • Posey Pockets • Coffee Filter Flowers • Upcycled Basket Wreath

There's just something about Spring Projects that make them so much fun to do! Today we have several quick and easy projects that are perfect for your Spring Decor. I'm also partnering with my multi-talented and crafty friend Annie ‪@IndieAnnieJones1‬ to bring you even more inspiration! Please be sure to hop on over to her channel. ~ First, I will update some plain wooden napkin rings using air dry clay and IOD moulds to lend a Shabby Chic touch to my dining table decor. I wanted the napkin rings to match the white distressed charger plates that I picked up several years ago at Pier One. I love how they turned out! Waverly Chalk Paint in the colors Hazelnut and Plaster were used, and they were sealed with Folk Art Clear Wax.
~ Next, we are using paper towel rolls to form our adorable Posey Pockets! The rolls were cut into 2 inch sections and glued at the bottom to form a pocket. A coat of Waverly Chalk Paint in Plaster helps to bring out the texture on our cardboard tubes. Accented with IOD stamps Craquelure and Knob Toppers, along with lots of lace, ribbon and pom poms. Stuffed with moss, greenery, and florals, they are such a cute addition to your Spring decorating!

~ Now we are on to my favorite part of the video, making coffee filter flowers! I can't believe how quick, easy, and beautiful these flowers turned out. I used a watercolor paint set from Walmart to dye the flowers in soft vintage pink and peachy blush. I'm definitely going to be creating more of these beauties!
~ Finally, I'm using a thrifted basket from Goodwill as a wreath form, attaching greenery garlands along with our coffee filter flowers to create this stunning piece. I simply love the Shabby Chic Springtime colors in my entryway!

So pretty, I love the staging also. In the basket, I noted a little Dollie and remembered my Mother-in-law used to make small ones and starch them and hang them on her tree at Christmas. and hang them around in other seasons.

I knew I found your channel for a reason. This video is a prime example of the amazing work you do. Your voice is so calm and soothing. And your instructions are so clear. I've also been saving paper towel and toilet paper rolls. I knew there was a project out there to utilize them.😉 The pockets were precious! 💕 I moved a couple of years ago and when you were working with the basket wreath, I suddenly remembered that I have a very large shopping bag completely full of an assortment of baskets. I've hung decorative baskets before but I've never actually decorated them. It's amazing how you inspire us with your projects and how we start thinking of creative things we can do. So my mind is going 90mpm just thinking of how I can turn plain baskets into something beautiful. ❣️ And now I'm thinking about all the different things I could decorate. The choices are endless. 🤗 I just want to run something by you. I picked up a washboard at the Target Dollar Spot and I've been pondering how I should decorate it. Possibly flowers or succulents? I just want to make it a nice piece to display. Any suggestions? I'd really like to hear your thoughts since you are so creative. As far as your washboard, you could do all succulents. I love that look. Or you could also add flowers, using colors in the succulents, such as limelight hydrangeas in soft green. I absolutely love your Channel I am a Shabby Chic Farmhouse girl but unfortunately I'm unable to do any crafting I would give anything in the world if I could have molds and stamps that would be just Heavenly LOL I watch you girls crafting and I just sometimes have to stop watching because I know I can't afford to purchase items right now my husband had a heart attack and a stroke and it has put my family in a rough spot but crafting was always something I could do and it would calm me. but I have God and your channel LOL

Shannon, I’m so sorry to hear of your husband’s health issues and send lots of prayers your way! I certainly enjoy using my stamps and molds, but there are ways to achieve a similar result. The Graphics Fairy has an endless array of lovely designs that you can print on tissue paper and decoupage to various items. You can also roll out clay and use common household objects such as pretty picture frames or knobs to make impressions in the clay, which can be applied to your craft projects. I hope you take a few crafty moments for yourself as you go through this health journey with your husband.

WINNER! Where do I start to say how I loved this video, start to finish! Everything touched my heart and decorating taste. You explain everything so clearly, breaking down the steps, offering different suggestions and embellishing tips and the staging brought out the beauty of all the projects. I’ve made coffee filter flowers but left the skewers long so I can put them in styrofoam in vases but now I see another great use for a smaller stem. The basket was “oh so gorgeous”! I used food coloring and the dipping method, but see now that watercolors are perfect and cheaper too. Great idea! The paper rolls are a great way to use up all my scrap ribbons and trims and I can see a line of them draped across my mantle for every holiday filled with appropriate stuffing! Adorable! Now I’m having fun working with clay and molds and loved the napkin rings. There’s no end to crafting and I’m glad it’s in my DNA. It’s so therapeutic and calming and I’m so glad you’re here to share your talents with us. A quiet Sunday morning, a hot cup of coffee and this video just made my day!

Great ideas; beautifully executed! The coffee filter flowers reminded me of my first job as a teen (many years ago!) working at Six Flags, where I made and sold giant brightly colored paper flowers on wooden dowels. Yours are so much softer and appealing! Loved all these crafts, Becky! 👍🏼🤗

I have done hundreds of coffee filter flowers and underwater corals with coffee filters for VBS at our church. We used food coloring in water and dipped them in and it was great! Love how you explain every project so patently. I am curious about your trim jar that had several different trims in and how you did that? Also we just moved to Greeneville TN in May and love it here! Praying your plans to move work out for you.💕🙏
