Well done on the matching nails. They look good on both of you. Yet again I sit in awe and watch you cut your paper and getting straight lines or at least not much off a straight line. This skill evades me. I have to use rulers and set squares etc to do this simple task. I love the mason jars and without the envelope maker I will have to find out my own way to do them as they are so lovely. Thanks for sharing. By the way the best tip I have for cooking turkeys is to get some cheesecloth and fold it so you have 4 or more layers that completely cover the bird. Turkeys do not have the same fat under their skin as chickens do so in a saucepan, melt some butter and stock. put the cheese cloth into the pan and cover the bird with it. Throughout the cooking time keep basting the cheesecloth with stock and melted butter, removing it for the last 30 minutes to brown the skin. The bird comes out lovely and moist. You could be decadent and use white wine instead of stock and don't stint on the butter. Merry Xmas to you all.
@shabbydabbydoodah4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Lynda. I am worse at trying to cut straight lines when using a ruler! Lol. Someone suggested downloading a template from Google images to make the mason jars, so you can try that. Thank you so much for your turkey tips, it seems the key is definitely keeping it moist, I will be regularly basting with butter and stock, thanks to you lovely ladies awesome suggestions. Merry Christmas to you too x

Hi Tina, oh my goodness! Your daughter is just precious! Her sweet little voice and her little hands! She did a great job painting her nails. I love mason jars. I use them for everything. I have a mason jar die cut, but it is kind of small. This is a great way to make larger ones. I see a mason jar mass make in my future, after Christmas though. You have been so busy and so dedicated to all of us who love you and your work. To have a video every day, even on Christmas Day for us is just incredible. This year, especially, as this time may be very hard for some who are alone, maybe vulnerable to covid and can’t be with family. They will have a video from you and a series after Christmas as well into the new year. I’m sure I speak for a lot of us, we appreciate you Tina. I hope you and your family have a wonderfully happy Christmas! Hugs 🤗

I really like the idea of mass making covers, I struggle with that so I don’t make many actual journals. I think it would be very helpful. I love these canning jars, they use to be popular in scrapbooking and card making but I never did any. I got a punch board from Santa last year and never used it, I think it is time to try it out with these! Your daughter is so precious and she did a fabulous job on her nails and jars. We are alone for Christmas as well with California being mostly shut down; our children in this state have been on home school all year, you are lucky your kids got to go to school. Time to go try these jars, thank for sharing the idea! 😊🎄😊

Yes strangely the covers are often the biggest sticking point aren't they? I will try and do something with covers. Yes, definitely have a play with your punch board, I don't use mine as often as I should, but I do love it whenever I get it out. Wow, home schooling the entire year must have been VERY hard for everyone. I just hope we are in for a better year next year.........Hope you have a wonderful (albeit) quiet Christmas x

Hi Tina, The mason jar looks so pretty. And your daughter sounds so sweet. Turkey baking tip: keep it covered until the last half hour to 45 min. of cooking time to get that golden brown. Bake at 250 degrees then up to 300, and finish at 350. I always bake for at least 4 hours depending on weight &stuffing. Biggest tip - season the night before and baste with butter every 30-40 minutes. Ohhh I can smell it now... see you tomorrow! Happy Christmas to you and yours.
@shabbydabbydoodah4 жыл бұрын
Oh thank you so much Millie for your fantastic tips about the turkey. I will definitely be using those tips, especially keeping it covered, I wouldn’t have known about that, so it’s much appreciated. Although I don’t eat the turkey, I just love the smell of Christmas dinner, which I guess is down to the turkey 🙃. Have a wonderful Christmas too x

These are adorable! Love the pretty nails so precious. Your daughter is going to be a wonderful crafter like her mother. The link you provided for where you got the idea goes to Gayle’s altered envelopes like you made the other day, which by the way I loved them as well. While watching you decorate when you were doing the lid part I was thinking the pinking scissors along the edge would look like the edges of the jar rim. I love your finished jar and I agree jars need labels!
@shabbydabbydoodah4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Rhonda, she LOVES crafting 🙃. Oh, thank you for mentioning that my link is still from last week, I will have to change that. The pinking scissors were cute weren’t they? Yes, labels they just make it look like a jar, otherwise I worry that they will just look like a weird shape pocket! Lol x

I don't remember where it was that I saw them. Perhaps it was on pinterest. I got a lot of my ideas from there. I don't have an envelope cutting board, but your idea without one is a good example.

I'm excited for little miss sunshine being on Christmas break. I hope she has a lovely time and a fantastic Christmas. 🎄 Loving her being involved in the video. She did a great job doing her nails 💅 and crafting. Go girlteam! and boyteam since I have 2 sons. Your nails are lovely as well. I have not seen one with string and tiny tag. Super sweet. I missed the first go-round with these so I'm sure I'll be making some. If someone doesn't have the punch board I'm sure they could find a template online. I hope you both have a delightful day. xoxo

Thank you, she loved doing the video, and I will tell her that you were impressed with her nails 🙃. Sons are lovely aren’t they? Enjoy making some of these, and fantastic idea for the template. Have fun x

Lovely to "meet" your precious daughter and exceptionally cool to see her crafting with mom. She takes after you in the crafting and pretty fingernails... perhaps Santa will bring her a ring as well. 💍 My son and I will be spending Christmas at home with a few gifts and a wonderful meal... still not sure what we're gonna be having for dinner yet but we'll be shopping tomorrow too. Perhaps we'll run into you at the store! 🤔🤭🙄🤪 It'd been my plan to craft on Christmas day... wasn't sure exactly what... but my BFF Tina has something cooked up so I'll follow her lead as she's never steered me wrong yet. We're missing church on Christmas eve here too. It's something we always enjoy a lot. My son is on the worship team and they always lead us in a wonderful half hour or more of songs before the message, then we light candles and it's a beautiful evening from start to finish. I wish you and yours a very happy Christmas! ...and the turkey? Don't worry girl, you've got this! 😉 Love you bunches and I thank you for thinking of us in making a project for Christmas. Hugs from the Southern California desert, MK 🤗❤🌵

What a fabulous idea to get her a little ring too! It’s definitely going to be a different kind of Christmas, hope you bought lots of yummy things yesterday doing your food shopping, we must have just missed each other 😉! Lol. Yay, I really hope you enjoy my little Christmas Day project 🤗🙃. The turkey is in the fridge thawing as we speak........ Hope you and your son have a wonderful Christmas. Take care, much love Tinax

Sorry, I also wanted to say, I just found your 'printing on fabric video ' and I'm SO happy 😁😁😁😁. Lol I tried it once with that horrible spray glue and printer paper. It did work but just wasn't worth the hassle. I'm off to order some labels!! ❤

Oh that’s fantastic, honestly I was soooooo excited and thrilled with the results using the labels for printing on the fabric. Have fun when your labels arrive x

😂😂😂 "for people who don't have a bone folder" 😄😄😄 I'm sorry I'm not laughing at you; I know our children can distract us and you're doing a awesome job involving her while you're working. ❤

I agree. I am so sorry Tina. I can’t help myself lol. I kept staring at that glue mess and next thing I knew I had told you to clean it. Can you tell how I was raised. I do apologize. Really. I do adore this jar you are making. I don’t have a punch but I’m going to try to make a couple. I’ll let you know how it goes.

I know what you mean Alanna, I have now fallen behind in replying to comments. Definitely the silly season seems fitting! Gladys on the comments has made a couple of cardboard templates for the jars, so maybe you could do that? I love my ring so much, thank you 🤗🙃. Have a wonderful Christmas x
