Two Tidy Fridays---love it! Loved seeing your excitement when you got the floor cleared. You are making awesome progress and just think you are making room for new stuff! As far as your desk, if that works for you so be it. Could try a few clear bins to put in the corner to throw stuff in--still have everything there but it would just look a little neater and if you use clear bins you can still see everything. That's kind of what I do. I have three clear flat 12x12 bins (about 3 inches high) that I have out when I'm working--one for paper, one for fabric/lace scraps and one for ephemera. I try to clear them out after each project and put them in the correct storage spot---now I have to admit that doesn't always happen, but I do try. I've been bad this week and my craft area is a little messy (hubby is out of town so I didn't do my normal evening clean up) and I really need to get it cleaned up so I can mess it up again this weekend!😊 Oh and as far as the outlet for your glue gun--have you thought about a smart plug? I have one and I control my craft light with it via the app or my Alexa voice control--love it. Hope you have a great weekend!

I just love Tidy Friday with you... Your excitement after you cleaned was so genuine and I was so happy for you, not to mention proud when you started binning some of things... Baby steps.. I always say, " if I haven't used in 6 months to a year I'm not going to"... I have stuck to that and it makes my room neater.... I still have my desk which looks like a hurricane hit it, but that's ok... Have a wonderful weekend 😘

Hi Tina, I have to say I find sorting really therapeutic. I often tidy and sort before beginning a project. My friend has a room in a mess much like yours but won't let me help as she says she needs to go through each bag which of course she does. So these tiddy Fridays are such fun to watch!! Thank you. It's also helped me realise I need to be a bit less tidy sometimes for inspiration. X

I havei an "unfinished project" system too. You have to! There are these canvases made all of wood...I think they make them for resin art work or for shadowbox projects. They are made fully of wood and they make a nice tray. I will fit cork to the bottom and beading fabric or yupo for whatever I'm working on. For beadwork it keeps the bits and pieces all contained. For inking and painting work it has a nice 1-2 inch raised edge so I can put a lid on it to protect them while they dry. They are also handy for bringing out to the living room and do crafts while watching tv in the evening. They stack really well. My stack of trays is about 2 feet tall now, lol. But it works for me. Its good to watch you organize yourself. Its helping us all

Tina again I am so proud of you, that set of drawers that you have under your desk, what you could do with them instead of using it for unfinished projects why not put it on your desk, grab a handful of papers neaten up and place in the drawers, you will still have the assess that you like and you are not actually getting rid of anything off your desk but putting it into a neat pile might make things a little easier, again well done and can't wait till the next tidy Friday. I am not actually doing a tidy of my craft supplies as I don't have that many but I am decluttering my home of things that I no longer want or need. Just because you have an untidy craft room doesnt mean that you are hoarder the rest of your house might tidy for all we know.

How exciting to clear the space under your desk and get things organized! You have seriously inspired me to keep looking through my own things and either keep, toss or donate. Keep means I have to put it where it belongs. My ribbons and lace drawers are still something to be desired. Have not yet figured out a good solution, lol. I love the laces and ribbons, and do hoard them, ugh! But how accessible are they if they are all undone and stuffed into drawers in a total mess. I love your tidy Friday’s Tina. 🥰 As you can see I’m way behind as I’m doing my sorting and tidying getting ready to travel again. The borders are getting closer to opening so I have to be ready to go. I’ve bought some very large plastic containers and I’m sorting into types of projects like vintage, paints/mixed media etc. They are all numbered so that way if I decide to get something sent to me it’s all organised and I can say to my son please send box number whatever, it’s no good saying anything like vintage box. I’ve been finishing up all my photos into albums and it’s amazing how many photo packets I’ve found with just a few photos left in them. Have just started a book of nieces and nephews because they all seem to be having babies, the next generation coming up and I’m still doing an album for my husband for his retirement next year. All in all a really busy time and having health problems it’s a bit of start, rest, bit more, rest and so on. It’s so hard to be ruthless, I found a box of paper scraps I’d used for collages and thought what am I doing keeping these surely I’ve got scraps everywhere, binned it, felt terrible but hey it’s got to be done. Know how you feel and appreciate your example on these tidy Friday’s. Love hearing about your family and know you must be special parents if your older children walk in the rain with you. Stay safe and thank you for your time and inspiration. 💕👋🏻

Tina, I understand the hoarder because my mom is that way. Bless her heart she just can’t part with something she might use or wear. She has a huge closet....room size and says she has nothing to wear. She does wear the same 5 or 6 outfits each week. Her two car garage can hold only her car and then if she pulls in a passenger can’t get out. Every other closet in her home is packed full too. One day my sister, brother and I will have a week or two going through and enjoying the memories. She is 86 and has boxes of things from her daddy that she hasn’t gone through since she brought them back from California. Treasure trove I’m sure, since he was a hoarder too. Don’t get me wrong, her home is lovely, just full.
@shabbydabbydoodah4 жыл бұрын
Oh I really can relate to your Mum's hoarding. It is sooooo hard to get rid of things, especially things that were from loved ones. Thankfully I am not at that level of hoarding, but I can see how it could easily happen. Have fun with your sister and brother going through her treasure troves x

Had a good laugh when I saw the third pile to go thru. Omg I can’t imagine how you’ and me too, can’t let go of things. I have stories my son wrote in 2 or 3 grade and he’s over 40. I can’t throw them away. If you can do the pile into the bin I need to get to work and clean out my things I don’t need to hang on to.
