Tge quran was revealed in 7 different dialects/modes of recitation which had slight differences between them but the meaning was intact. fact is since the standardisation from the uthman era, the Quran has been preserved, scientifically proven from the quran found in Birmingham UK, furthermore the text found in sana'a cant be verfied (atleast not yet) if it was i.e an actual Quran or a students works etc.

@Pipi Pipa half of the things you have listed for not believing in the bible are exclusively for the qutan. I say this because it is you guys that push those accusations on the books of others. We on the other hand have no issue with our earliest book being 200 yrs after Jesus ascended. You have to keep in mind, the doctrin of the church predates the compilation of the Bible. That already pokes a hole in your criticism, because we can see that from the earliest church fathers the trinitarian belief was present. The only reason for the council of nicea was to clamp down on heretical beliefs. What's more, your quran is also 'according to'. I mean, Muhammad didn't write it. He recited it to his followers, just as the disciples told the scribes what he witnessed (their accounts of Jesus' life). Your book comes from the followers of or Muhammad, and your whole faith rests on them transcribing everything for Muhammad perfectly, which as we can see, we have no surety of that. Even if they did, the first copy is still lost. Essentially what I am saying is that whatever criticism you have of the Bible, you'll more than likely shoot yourself in the foot because it can be applied to the quran.

@Pipi Pipa there are several scientific errors in the quran, the idea you dipping a flies wing into you food for a cure, or the fact that urine is sold in suadi Arabia due to guidance from either the quran or hadith. But that's besides the point. You guys have difficulty understanding what you choose not to understand. If you apply the fact that God is unlike anything we can imagine, then our belief is no longer implausible. In terms of the trinity, its a doctrine derived from what the disciples heard and understand, and then proceeded to teach to the followers of Christ after his ascension. They themselves baptised in the name of the father, son and holy spirit. You could not insert Muhammad and Allah's name into that phraseology simultaneously, if not it would be classed as shirk. If any religion is confusing its Islam. How can you follow a man that ignored some of his own teachings according to sahih hadith, that had relations with a child at the age of 54, that was aroused by the presence of women that weren't his wife, and would then go home to have intercourse with them as a response. Don't get me wrong, prophets can make mistakes, but in the bible they repented immediately for said mistakes. I have not seen mo do this

More accurately, I thought the religions were one and the same, varying only in prophet and Gods revelation of himself. Not only was I ignorant, but I was also oblivious to the facts staring me in the face. Even as a Christian, it was by chance that I stumbled upon a Christian preacher channel. Here I saw that they believed exactly what I believed. However, in said videos, I saw Muslims, whom I thought would be similar to my Muslim friends, attack my religion, and essentially trample all over my belief. Then I started seeing some Muslims with a bit more knowledge ask very specific questions. It had evolved from simple denial of what we believe (which most Muslims are conditioned to do naturally) apologetics. Videos later, I end up on a dcci video that exposes the most blatant lie that I've have ever seen. Yet, not once did a Muslim admit to this fallacy beforehand. Why did I write this anecdote? Its to show you that we are actually on similar paths, trying to find the truth. I will put my hand up and apologise if my quotations are innacurate to some degree.

@@generaljg4373 I'm not Christian, but keep in mind that a few added verses (like the long ending of Mark) does not change the Christian theology. Also, Christians never make a claim that the Bible is word for word, it is simply an account of people based on oral traditions. The idea of the Trinity is just their way of understanding which took time to develop, I don't agree with it, but you can defend it based on the texts. The Quran talks of the spirit for example, which is some part of Allah, so you could argue that Muslims have 2/3 of the Trinity.

Q1: Could it be 37+ Qurans with all their glaring inconsistencies which means that the book has not been preserved and was not sent down by Allah? Q2: Could it be that Uthman burned all but one copy and most Muslims ended up with the recitation of Hafs, the liar, plagiarist and thief? Not my words. That's what numerous scholars report him to be. Q3: Could it be that there was a sleepy scribe along the way and people like Umar and Ibn Sarh feeding lines to MHMD and a suggestion to add poetry if there were missing parts to the Quran? Q4: Could it be that there was no tashkil to interpret Arabic (or borrowed Aramaic texts for that matter) that can result in as many as 20 or more possible words from one word alone!? It was a complete guessing game when it came to adding diacritical marks. 25% of the Quran isn't understood most likely because of this guessing game when diacritical marks were invented. Q5: Could it be that Al-Fatihah, the first surah, is a borrowed Syro-Aramaic prayer almost word for word? And could it be that Ibn Mas'ud, the best reciter of the Quran, said that MHMD never recited Al-Fatihah, so Ibn Mas'ud didn't include it in his recitation? Most Muslims got Hafs with Al-Fatihah. Q6: Could it be that the People of the Book and our non-Muslims are saying out loud publically what Islamic scholars have been hiding from Muslims themselves? Finally, could it be that they are trying to shut up people with knowledge of their Quranic texts and call anyone daring to expose the truth about the Quranic texts a "phobe" because Muslims are afraid that we are letting the cat out of the bag? This Quran has been memorized by how many millions of Muslim, recited in the same way by all Muslims. The Verse you are referring to actually starts with “‏قال” Meaning, he said. He is who “Moses”, so even if in that version it was “I” it still doesn’t change the meaning because it’s still referring to Moses.

I in Hafs we read "[Moses] said, You have already known" [Sahih Int]. From what I understand, in al-Kisai's reading, Moses said to Pharaoh, “I have known”. How does "I" (Moses) mean "you"? I don't know Arabic, I'm just going by what Islamic translators who know classical Arabic say. The scholar Al-Farrāʼ records that the “I have known” variant is attributed to ʿAlī, who is narrated as saying, “By God, what the enemy of God knows, Musa knows!”. This is not the only case in the Quran where ʿAlī reportedly disagreed with a majority reading, according to Al-Farrāʼ. There seems to be many instances where you have you/they, he/it, we/he, I/he... To me (and I would assume most other people who understand grammar), these give different meanings, no? The number of people memorizing a book today has little to do with these variants. If you look at the most ancient manuscripts there are numerous variants (most scribal errors, like in any ancient texts), and we know that oral traditions are not 100% accurate. There are many stories in the Quran that repeat but with different (and contradictory) details, these are signs of different streams of transmission. One of the reasons that Uthman wanted to collect the Quran was because people started to vary on the verses, so already only a few decades after there were issues (as to be expected). And the sahih hadiths lists the sources, all written, and the hearts of men at the end - it does not say right away that they simply sat down and recited the Quran from their perfect memories, such a view didn't exist in early Islam. Would you claim that today's Quran goes back 100% to Muhammad? I don't see how that is historically likely if you study oral cultures and manuscripts.

Also they had to unite the world with one text back in 1984 by authorise everyone to follow the Hafs Quran also, bar those in Africa who still read Warsh

The sequence of the Quran or the Order of Narration is a problem in and of itself. If this book is from Allah, why isn't the order of narration preserved. Why are people messing with it? Couldn't Allah keep the timeline straight? The Order of Narration is bid'a. With the San'a Palimsest, Allah changed his mind apparently and erased his first draft and wrote over it. Finally, one has to ask whether anything was preserved. There is no pre-Uthmanic Quran out there. C'mon, Allah!

Variations I.e Ahruf and Qira’at (different styles of reading), and all of these *are* the Quran. No contradiction at all. Mentioned in the Hadith that The Quran has been revealed on 7 ahruf. Also in terms of the Uthmanic manuscript etc and those that say “what came before it?”, what came before it is the same as it today, except that the ummah of Islam is an ummah of memorization, and not of papyri copies and writing down, and this is known among the Arabs regarding their profound memorization skills when it comes to poetry which was their specialty etc. All in all, even if all Quran were burned today, it wouldn’t matter as within less than a day will the Muslim ummah print a new copy, as it is memorized by hundreds of millions today, same as how it was memorized by Muslims back at the time of The Prophet عليه الصلاة والسلام. And, as a testimony of that is the chain of narrators going back To The Prophet عليه الصلاة والسلام.

I love Dr Shabir Ally, I’ve been interested in potentially converting to a Muslim as an atheist and he really puts my heart at ease. Even if you are religious you can’t turn a blind eye to facts. So which Arabic version of the quran do you use and why that one? And how do you deal with all the mistakes and contradictions in that quran as well as the approval of evil such as raping women who have been captures in battle (surah 33:50) which is adultery and wife beating (surah 4:34) as well as child marriage (surah 65:4) which means that Mohammed and his allah approved of raping little prepubescent girls. And we see that Mohammed led by example when he married a 6 year old child and then raped that child when it was just 9 years old. Clearly Mohammed disqualified himself as a prophet of GOD by the evil he perpetrated. So tell me, why do you believe that following Mohammed will get you to be with GOD in heaven on judgement day my friend? Shabir ali is just a doctor. Compared to scholars like zakir naik, ahmed deedat, uthman farooq(who do say the quran is preserved word by word) he has less knowledge. But forget that, there's the Birmingham manuscript, go read it, compare it to today's quran... then tell me it's not preserved.

Of course it's not preserved. Anyone can see that. He is just being honest about the Quran. How many different Qurans are we up to? 30 or so, I did hear 36 once. All different with thousands of differences. Some are minor but many are very substantial differences.
