I can't thank you enough for posting this. I guess i just needed to hear I'm not the only one who feels lost and alone all the time. I had a drinking problem for 7 years. (2 years sober) Everything really hit home for me. This is exactly how I feel right now. I have a theory that this, highway, and bar song are all connected. Bar song is a guy who is an alcoholic, he goes out drinking all the time. Highway is that same guy starting to see the pain his decisions are causing others around him, and that he needs to fix them.
