Standout track from one of the greatest albums of the 90s. Still thrilling and transporting.

Knew a gorgeous bird from Kenny in the 80's. I was 16. Went back to her house to put on some Bowie LP's. She turned the light off and I shit meself 😢😢 Still haunts me to this day! Great tune this.

This is chillingly accurate modern folk. I love this song and it always gives me the old goose-bumps, especially live. The great touch on this record is Templeton's tap-tapping of the cymbal at 2:25, like the desperate hand on the door knocker it cuts right through the song.

"i dont want a bag i want a big one" - what bitter-sweet lyrics and music this band does, up there with the byrds, lennon, reed, painfully beautifully fantastic. just hope shack, mick, or john will be touring soon.

A wonderful, wonderful band - happened upon "HMS Fable" here in the Antipodes quite by accident, and have since sourced the entire back catalogue (all the way back to the Pale Fountains, by way of The Strands, and into the present by way of Red Rubber Band). Every song is so well crafted, populated by terrific lyrics and powered by beautiful, memorable tunes. Oasis? - Pah! Shack were, and are, the real deal! Seek all of this out folks, admire and enjoy!
