Shad Top Case Luggage System for the Can-Am Ryker

We're happy to introduce our Top Case Storage Solution for the Can-Am Ryker Lineup. This project has been along time coming and is a collaborative effort between the team over at SpyderExtras and Shad Bags. This luggage solution features an SH47 Shad top case that's been designed with modern aerodynamic styling and is made from high-quality reinforced polypropylene plastic that resists extreme temperatures, while protecting the gear you have stowed away inside. The top case features a stylish carbon like paneling on the top side of the case as well as an integrated reflective material below the Shad logo to increase visibility at night. The internal volume of the top case is 47 liters which is abundant enough to hold up 2 full-face helmets or your other favorite travel accessories. You'll also get a passenger backrest for comfort, as well as a Shad Bag Removeable Luggage Liner so that you can easily remove and transport the contents of your luggage case.
If you're not using the included luggage liner or you prefer to remove the top case itself, you can do so by pulling down on the lower handle to lift the top case up and off the bike and transport it with the integrated carrying handle. That same lower handle is also used to re-attach the top case back onto the bike. The upper handle on the top case is used to open the lid so that you have easy access to your belongings.
One of the cool features of this Shad Bag Top case is that it has a Handle Lock System that provides a double locking mechanism. So that once you lock the case with the included key, you lock the top case to the bike while also locking the lid. It also has protection built in so that you can't lock your keys inside.

Can you adjust the suspension so you don't have to worry about bottoming out with a passenger or do you need to get new suspension? I know I can adjust the stock suspension with a tool.

Hello Wendy, the Shad Rack mounts to the underside of the "max mount". You don't have to run a passenger seat if you don't want to.

Hello Troy, the steel bracket is required and mounts to the underside of the max mount with the included hardware, then the plastic shad base mount mounts to that which allows you to clip and lock the top case in place. Thank you!

so if on the regular 900 classic do you still need to remove the splash guard?

Yes, you'll still need to remove the factory plastic splash guard so that you can mount the rack to the underside of the max mount with the included hardware. The reason we offer replacement aluminum splash guards for the "rally" models is because the rally fender is much smaller and water can spray the driver's booty in wet conditions. If you have the standard 900 you should have the full-length fender and water spray should not be an issue.

Could you pull down the splash guard, Mount the plate sandwiched with the splash guard? That way you still have the splash guard.

@@jeancomeau8032 Hello Jean, the instructions provided on our website were provided by the MFG of the product, which is Spyder Extras. Their instructions start presuming that you've already removed the factory splash guard under the max mount. We do our videos as a guide to help people through the process of installing mods as the MFG instructions are generally quite vague. We go over the removal of the factory splash guard and the installation of the aftermarket metal splash guard by SpyderExtras in our video. Thank You!

if I have the ryker sport that includes the max mount already and I don't have the passenger seat installed, what will I need in addition to the Shad case to install it?

Hello Kim, this mounts to the underside of the Max Mount.. so nothing else is needed in addition to the Shad Bag Kit for installation.
