Actually, in all honesty, nobody gives a rat's ass if you're wearing originals or fakes because everybody's too damn busy focusing on themselves. If you feel good wearing either of the two, it's all up to you. As long and you're comfortable and happy with what you're wearing that's all well and good. It's all in the mind.

Does the positioning of the writing on the temple mean anything? I have a pair I bought from RayBan direct and also a pair I got used and they seem the same but the writing is closer to the lenses than on my other pair. Also the case is a different shape, does this matter?

Bear in mind that some of the stuff are removed from the box by US re-sellers so having extra packagin dosent always mean are fake.

I bought RayBan’s from sunglass hut at Woodbury mall in New York .. I see both doesn’t have QR code, does that mean they are fakes? It was $213 for each , but since it was outlet it was 213 for one and another for 50% off .. this month I bought three more raybans 2 from RayBan website and 1’e from sunglass hut site .. all 3 seem original , feels different from ones I bought before , all 3 came with QR code in RayBan box.. sunglass hut didn’t exist provide any box.. even though sunglass hut is owned by luxotica is there still a possibility that they sell knock offs from China? Could an employee or owner be doing such scam?

I just recently bought what I thought was a pair of Rayban Original Wayfarer Sunglasses, RB2140, on Offerup. What was supposed to be my first experience owning a pair of Rayban sunglasses, turned out to be my first experience of counterfeit Rayban sunglasses 😅😅😋😋. it looks to me like these may not be 100% fake, the way they are almost identical and only someone who knows about glasses can tell if they're fake or not. My belief is that these are Ray ban rejects that companies buy from ray ban and then they're sold as not authentic.

Luxotica makes all the worlds sunglasses they own the process to mold them so almost 90% of all glasses are made by luxotica

You actually get a lot of those 'fake' plastics when you order genuine ones as a optician's shop/retailer. LUXOTTICA ships (At least in Europe) them with those kind of plastics, then, when optics shop receives them, they usually just toss them out when putting glasses on display, or keep those plastic baggies for themselves. I can say that as a part owner of real optician shop.

Also, from what I heard from international colleagues - all Ray-Bans - 'fakes' and the real ones are manufactured at the same factory. They supposedly manufacture in shifts. Shift 1 - genuine stuff sold in stores USA/EU for the big bucks and have gone through quality checks. Shift 2 - Glasses for Asian market, also acceptable quality but slightly shorter temple length - these you can get for medium amount of money on DHGate and they are not actually that bad. I tried order these once and optician with 25years of work experience couldn't tell the difference between these and Genuine ones except the temple length difference. Shift 3 - stuff for dealing on aliexpress, turkey markets etc. Not the best quality, doesn't go through any quality checks and sometimes are not the correct sizes, but still made by the same Luxottica supplier factory, just without quality checks.

Not sure why your colleagues would tell you that but I have connections to people who actually work for LUX and they say this is totally not true. Also with modern manufacturing there wouldn’t be a huge difference in quality regardless of who’s running the robots it’s very little hands on work at LUX. So there is no Shift 1 Shift 2 etc when it comes to quality... these company’s are clearly using different tooling

Wow another shocking ignorant comment… It’s is much better to wear no sunglasses at all then a fake pair of sunglasses! Fake sunglasses still reduce the light by 70-85% so to compensate for this your pupils dilate causing a greater surface for UV raise to enter it and cause damage. And this is the HUGE issue with fakes sunglasses. Again please just don’t wear sunglasses at all but what ever you do don’t wear fake sunglasses
