Shades of Green is a resort on Disney World property for active or retired military members and their families and close friends staying with military families. This room sleeps up to 5 adults and is a great size for families. We were very impressed with the size of the room and the bathroom. Even for having a standard view, we had a very nice view of the golf course. This resort sits on a golf course, so most of the views here are really pretty no matter where your room is.

We stayed there last year in an accessible room with a roll in shower. Was on ground floor. Those rooms are huge. Wish the rooms at Disney were this big. We loved having the ducks and turkeys come up to the sliding glass door.

This was such a great room tour. My husband and I got married here in 2017. The night before our wedding I slept in my mother’s room with some of the girls and I slept on the twin bed and I had a great nights sleep. We have stayed several times and it is always so relaxing. We also spent 2 nights in the honeymoon suite and that was amazing. Thank you for all the great room tours!

we stayed here when it was owned and operated by disney as the Disney Inn, a golf resort. It was considered a pretty fancy place back then and the rooms were i believe the largest on property at the time. The only reason we stayed there was to convince my sister and brother in law to visit disney world. They were kind of anti-disney, so anything that was less themed was good for them. And since he's a golfer, a golf resort was perfect. I haven't been there since the government bought it, so this was really interesting to see!!

We stayed there in 2015 and it was great! Looks like you were in the Palm wing. We stayed in the Magnolia wing and had a pool view, but could also see the top of the fireworks from MK from our balcony! It’s a beautiful resort & just a quick 10-15 walk across the street to the monorail at the Poly!

Is there a shades of green for Disneyland? Thank you for posting this video. When I returned from deployment back in 2019. My family and I stayed at one of the resorts for the first time and recieved horrible services. Bot to mention the place was expensive. Took all of my deployment money. They didn't even tell us any of the perks for staying at the resorts until our last night there.

When you say you walk rather than take the bus from shades of green are you just waking to Polynesian and getting on shuttle to magic Kingdom or wherever? When you are limited to 6 tickets do you mean you can buy 6 four day park hopper passes or you can only buy 1 day ticket for 6 different people?

We walk to The Polynesian to take the monorail to Magic Kingdom or Epcot. For the tickets, you have the option of buying up to 6 of the Armed Forces Salute 4 or 5 day tickets, per eligible armed forces member.

If you had a choice of Pop Century or Shades of Green which one would you pick?

Currently, we’d choose Pop Century. If the monorail were running at Polynesian, we’d say Shades of Green because you can walk to the Polynesian and get on the monorail 😊

Were you guys able to use their bus system? I read that you need a military ID to board the buses. How does that work if someone sponsored you to stay?

We were able to use the bus transportation here. We were given a “pass” that showed we were staying at the resort which would allow us on the bus. 😊

Any government employee can get a room or sponsor people for a room. Not just military!!!
