@@Lucia4_ you have to use multiple layers when doing this and depending on the layer I’m sure there’s different ways to do it but the only way I know is turning on alpha lock for the layer you’re trying to colour in

I'm so glad! I still really love traditional art, especially colored pencils and pastels. for me, the digital art has the advantage of being cleaner and more spontaneous. Because I can undo and do crazy experiments, I feel like I learn faster than when I use traditional mediums.

the finished cactus looks good! but why not use yellower and bluer greens to start with, I’m left wondering? hue-shifting can be done manually and it helps develop your intuitive sense of color theory :D

This is an Apple iPad. I'm using an app called Procreate to paint with. The white pencil thingy is an 'Apple Pencil 2'. If you want to buy a device like this second-hand, it will cost around 300-700USD. Brand new from the Apple Store 800 to 1000 usd. It's very convenient for painting anywhere.
