In Norse mythology, there was a mistake in the creation of Mjolnir (Loki's fault) that made the hilt too short. It was supposed to be two handed. And Thor is insanely strong in mythology. It took 9 giants to lift it. On a separate occasion, it took both of his sons to lift it, one of which was the God of Strength. On top of that, Thor has a belt that doubles his strength anyway, so weight really isn't a problem for him, and the handle wasn't intentionally designed like that.

Once, in orbit in space, it missed him because he wasn't in the same place he'd thrown it, so it's treated as a boomerang, or Cap's shield. No. Being forged in the star was definitely not just a movie thing. The comics forge it in the same place by the same people and that was them making the hammer. So it has to be much hotter to make the hammer than it does to repair the hammer, I can fix a cast iron with a arc welder but it will not be the same temperature as when it was made. Also the comic you are referencing is from 1965, and implies than there was some god like tampering with the repair process as the hammer was fixed in an hour and the workers of the mill said that it would’ve taken them months to do the same thing.

In the myth, Mjølnir was made somewhat faulty by the dwarves, with a handle much too short. The shortness of the handle was not intentional, but probably mirrors the "imperfect side" of the gods. It is meant to be neither practical nor realistic. Superheroes are in many ways our modern gods.

@@TheDragonaf1 there is neither a statement, nor any discernable pattern to establish by which standard the hammer determines whether someone's worthy or not.
@TheDragonaf13 жыл бұрын
@@windhelmguard5295 actually there is. In the comics Thore states "one must have a pure heart and a Nobel mind" (I.e what Odin considers worthy) This was spoken when Cap first lifted the hammer and I believe superman could also (with Odin's permission). In current continuity the Hammer told Jane that it chose her because of her strong heart being stronger than thunder. E.g. the saying: do I choose my head or heart to do the right thing. To hold the hammer you need to have the spirit of the warrior and clear intention. In the MCU it's a bit different. Nothing is specifically said. But their is a clear patter. To hold it you must judge yourself if you have dbout your not worthy E.g. Thore had to learn humility and understand the choice not to always fight first, Cap had a good heart and knowing he could life it chose not to. Vision was pure of mind but again didn't want to fight/to avoid fighting. So in the MCU most fans agree that being worthy (in Odin's eye) is the reluctance to use power because you understand how dangerous that power is.

@Карасик Ерохин spoilers nah nah fam, as Odin said, the hammer was to serve as a focus or conduit of sorts to focus Thor's power, not as a source for it. The hammer actually draws power *from* Thor. We even see him use lightning and thunder without Mjolnir in Ragnarok. Okay, so here's how it works: Hammer = focus for Thor's powers, not source Enchantment = one must be worthy to wield Mjolnir, not only Thor. Thor is even unworthy of Mjolnir in the first Thor movie. Capt. uses Mjolnir plus lightning powers = that's because, "if he be worthy, he shall posses the power of Thor" note, "*power of Thor*", not "*power of Mjolnir*." Mjolnir doesn't hold the power, Thor does. Just so happens that Mjolnir can let its worthy wielder use Thor's power. This is convoluted, I know :'/ Hopefully, someone can make my explanation clearer and more understandable X'P
