Back in old days, Chinese people write in Traditional Chinese. They can understand others’ writing, but not orally since people from different areas speak their own dialects, like Cantonese, Hokkien, Shanghainese and so on. That’s why Mandarin is created for better communication and understanding. The concept of Mandarin was actually started in 1945, which is earlier than the time that Taiwan no longer want to be part of the new China. That’s why both mainland and Taiwan speaks Mandarin. At that time, Hong Kong was under UK and Macau was under Portugal, so they use their own dialect, which is Cantonese as their official language. So Mandarin is only used to separate from other dialects, mostly common is Cantonese. (You can say Cantonese is no dialect anymore since many Chinese people overseas speak it.) To the field of writing, the new government announced official Simplified Chinese to increase the level of education cause at that time, mainland was recovering from wars and developing while suffering from poverty. That’s why mainland use CHS while Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau use CHT.

@@vintageswiss9096 nice nice! I totally agree with you. Just one small thing, zhongguo “ren” means Chinese people while zhongguo “hua” means Chinese language. I know it’s kinda tricky cause in English the word “Chinese” could mean both. Another shorter way you can say is “zhongwen” which means the same.

With all due respect - Hello there.... I am a player since 2016. Got my interest into gbl since season 2 . Currently I am at ace ranking! I have noticed that , the pvp community and players interested in gbl is extremely small. Although , I have an idea to engage it , but If I tell this to niantic, they might not listen to it. If a big pvp youtuber says this , they might consider it! If niantic adds new perks to gbl , it can become interesting for many players. Perk number one- There should be a shiny multiplier that gets increased as people climb rank. This will encourage a lot of regular player to get into pvp. Perk number 2- There should be weekly gbl tournament, which start at a different time in different parts of the world .... a player can only enter one of them , and after entering the tournament, he can battle for a limited number of rounds in the tournament ,which will give that player a rank in it's local tournament's leader's board! The prize for getting on top should be some nice awards such as some great bundles! This will encourage people like me ( who are bored from battling ) to re-engoy the fun! I hope so , you like this idea and give some response on it! Even if you don't like it , still I request you to respond on it and reply! Thanks!!

At 4:15, when a catch attempt is likely , on a 2-turn vs 2-turn, why would the CM thrower not wait a turn to make sure it’s not caught? I see these situations a lot in tournaments and it seems like an avoidable lose con to throw on that two turn alignment. I don’t battle in tourneys but just curious.

it's such an unreliable tactic though that many players can't really practice doing it. I know when I try this, my game doesn't always update the visual so it seems like nothing is happening when really it is.

The opponent had a shield left still. They didn't throw, because the fast move would do more than 1 damage. The only way yodada could have won by throwing that move is if the opponent had 1 hp, since charge moves do 1 hp through shields.

Taiwan has its own dialect, which is originally from Hokkien. People who has that culture background in their family are highly possible to speak that, which was around 1/3 according to a research in 2020. Nowadays, since more and more people from other areas have moved to Taiwan, Mandarin is more useful in different situations while their own dialect is fading away just like any other dialects of Chinese.
