Great both shadow and bass are both similar to atlas...

Sometimes there's an internet convergence. Since a few weeks ago youtube started recommending me Astro boy videos, which lead me to searching astro boy info. Which then 2 days ago lead me to a reddit thread from 2 years ago of someone comparing the 1980's atlas design to Shadow. Wild stuff.

I'd also tell that Astro Boy/Atom inspired Megaman and is a pillar of Japanese culture next to Ultraman.

there is also a Ps2 astro boy game developed by sonic team, so its almost full circle

It's a pretty good show *kinda like with Sonic Adventure and Sonic X the Japanese dub is better, a lot gets cut from the English dub versions*, Sonic Team even made a game based on the 2003 Astro Boy Series for the PS2 tho the GBA one (Omega Factor) is a lot better handled by the devs behind Gunstar Heroes on Genesis.

Ive heard and got some interest in astro boy, but idk which one to watch

Start with the 80s one or the 2000s one.

The 1980’s series & 2000’s series are both great, 2000’s SUB can be mixed depending on where you find to watch it. 1980’s was also made when Osama Tezuka was still around. And he had a part in it’s production.

It's a great series! 2003 one is my favorite, there's a really good game based on it for the GBA Astro Boy Omega Factor

Shadow also reminds me of Metropolis (2001)’s version of Rock, especially with Shadow’s game. They both have guns. IDK if they were inspired by it, but Shadow 05 was probably influenced by it, and Metropolis 01 has a reference to Metropolis Zone by having the city have 3 zones, and introducing them with a similar font to a Sonic zone title card.

I Never Saw much Of The Show. And, Who's Atlas?
@ClassicSonicSatAm3 ай бұрын
Well ya know Astro Boy is a robot? well a criminal took the blueprints for him, and created Atlas, so he shares a lot of Astro's powers to the point being brothers tho has the Omega Factor, giving him extra power *kinda like how Shadow has chaos powers* like Shadow he dose become good later on, even saves the earth
@ewoutverheij47453 ай бұрын
@@ClassicSonicSatAmThe Omega factor doesn’t make him physically stronger, it alters Atlas mentally, and because of that after getting heavily damaged he re-built himself with a different physique. More adult human like as well.

if anything I’d say the best comparison of shadow HAS to be zero from mega man z
@ClassicSonicSatAm3 ай бұрын
But Megaman Z came out a year after Shadow's debut in Sonic Adventure 2.

I see where your coming from.

@@DOYOUGOTGAMEONYOURPHONE I'd say he's more comparable to Shadow from his own game. Since story ideas and concepts parallel Shadow's. Even his personality, seeing as how Zero was slightly more reworked to be more calm and calculating (traits Shadow had originally). For these reasons I sometimes consider the MMZ series as an idealistic Shadow spinoff, since they execute these ideas better at times than Shadow's own game. Edit: Though elements from Sa2 are also used Close bond with a kindhearted girl (that's also blonde), whose a key part of his goal in the game Being awakened after years of hibernation And the obvious color scheme used for the redesign, making the black the prominent color, the white just a small accent, red remaining mostly the same and yellow being used for his wrists, ankles and hair. Wouldn't surprise me if Inti Creates saw Shadow and said: "we can do something with this."

Megaman and it’s concepts were also directly inspired by Astro Boy. Dr Light is pretty much Ochamanizu (Astro’s surrogate father and Minister of Science) And Wily could be compared to Tenma, but Wily is way more cartoonishly evil while Temna has a bit more depte than that. Megaman himself from a design principle is also Similar to Astro.
