oh my god. Six of Crows is arguably my FAVORITE fantasy novel of all time, and when I heard Netflix is doing S&B and has the Crows in it I was like oh no oh no oh no they are going to fk it up, I KNOW they are going to fk it up because there is NO WAY they are going to be able to cast the Crows right. And here we are, Netflix proving me wrong. THEY ARE THE CROWS, literally the perfect casting. And I was kind of worried about Wylan after the 1st season but no, Jack is the perfect Wylan too. Idk how Netflix does it but this is probably the only time I love to be proved wrong.

To be honest, rereading Six of Crows right now and Kaz actually is quite a funny little guy lol. Not even mean-funny, sometimes he's literally just a teenage boy having fun. He's not as cold and moody and broody as it's shown here, he's very witty and outgoing. I mean, he literally made a "Your mom"-joke, and the banter he has with Inej is just...he called her his "little Suli-idealist" and he teases her and she teases him back I'm sorry, I have a lot of feelings about these characters

I think love is a strong word for book Jesper though. I think it was more of a attraction/fascination/codependancy thing. Book Jesper could never say no to Kaz, and needed his approval more than show Jesper does, but was it ever love? I think Kit's answer is pretty on point actually.

And that’s what happens when they cast people who have read the books, and not because they’re A-list actors. Like, they took their sweet time to find the perfect actors for each and every one role. Not only looks, but the energy they give off, and the chemistry with their co-stars. It’s evident that they’re fans of the Grishaverse, and didn’t skim the books, but got to know their characters.
