To me personally what made shadow fight series so special and set it apart from other fighting games is the simplistic graphics that sf2 brought which is why its the best game in my opinion. Therefore that is why I don't think sf3 and sf4 is as good because the 3d graphics just puts it beside other many fighting games while sf2 sets itself apart. And Shades actually improves on that feel.

I was one of the first thousand users of shadow fight 2. I really miss those times. It was actually way harder back then. The ranged weapons given were actually limited to two or three (even in survival mode). There were no online modes or eclipse modes at that time. It was a gem of a game.

ngl, i used to play sf since i was 6, so here is my rating (i still play it until now) SF0 = never heard of it. SF1 = 5/10 (my first sf, i used to play it on facebook, i enjoyed it alot honestly. SF2 = 10/10 no explaination needed. SF shades = (i didnt play it, and i will try it out) SF3 = 7/10 (i really hated how hard the story was maybe i could complete it now.) SF4 = 9.5/10 (i really love the game, the skins, the combat, the animations, it is hard to play but its so satysfying i really love it and i still play it, and the fact that it has SF2 characters like lynx, butcher even tho this game has a characters instead of customizing your armor or sword, so i really loved it.)

Soo basically sf0 (2001) and sf1 (2011) have nothing to do with the storyline and is just a regular game with no storyline Then sf2 (2014) is where the storyline truly picks up and then in story order (the order that the shadow fight story happens) apparently that's when SF5 A.K.A Shades (2023) comes in as it's kind of a prequel to sf3 (2017) and it takes place in between the events of SF2 and SF3 and what happened after the events of SF2. Then Shadow Fight 3 follows the story a copy of Shadow's desendant from SF2 (Great-grand child or something like that) and another main character called June. And by the end of that it has revealed that Shadow has turned kind of evil as in SF2 his wife May died and he wants to create a world/reality that she's still alive and well, and for him to achieve that, he must destroy the world SF2 and SF3 (so far) co-exists in to create this new reality, and eventually he kind of does destroy the world because it leads up into SF4 and then DIRECTLY leads up into Shadow Fight Shades Fight Roguelike or SF5, as in that game Shadow is in a village with his wife May and Sensei (Who both died in SF2) And just fyi, SF4 doesn't really have much going on relating to Shadow himself as Nekki who are the game developers of Shadow Fight mainly made the game focus on the online "Arena" aspect of the game. Soo to sum up ur question there are 6 Shadow Fight games, the first 2 and SF4 Arena's stories don't need to be worried about too much as the first 2 (SF0 and SF1) don't really have a story and SF4 is only really focused on Shadow mind and just mainly Arena, but incase if I'm wrong just play SF4 just to see coz I havent completed that story yet. Play SF2, SF SHADES, SF3, then SF4 in that exact order to understand the full story because its really confusing.
