Whenever a game developer sends you a key it means one of two things: A) they are super confident in their game or B) they have no clue who you are. In this case I suppose they had confidence in their game and I'm glad you liked it. It sucks when someone gives you their game for review and you have to shit on it. Glad this got a thumbs up.

Played the demo a few months ago. As someone who has been a fan of this type of game ever since Commandos back in the 1990s, and a big fan of Shadow Tactics and Desperados, I really enjoyed this. Yes, it's more of the same, but for me, that's not a bad thing.

Great review . I would like to point out that there is a demo for that gamr and its a long demo and the best part if you end up buying the game. You can start from where you ended up in the demo, you dont have to start a new game.

@@sudstahgaming I get the idea, although (at least where I live) the games in the 90s were way more expensive (equivalent to approx. 100€ of today) so I never really thought games costs were that much of a problem, but that’s personal. Also, it is pretty easy to find them cheaper than before (online, or used if physical). I won’t say the same for games like RDR « remaster » at 50€ of course 🥸

I love these kind of games, they're like real time puzzle games with a lot of action. Other games in this genre that I have found are desperadoes 1 and 3 (skip desperadoes 2 and helldorado), shadow tactics, commandos 1, 2 and 3, robin hood legend of Sherwood and War Mongrels (war mongrels is a bit janky though)

I knew armored core 6 wouldnt be mack's cup of tea. Its a glidey slidey gundam seed mecha game with giant swords and cannons on a tiny archetype that... might look cool in an anime but really, 1st person or 3rd person, you might think you're weightless/ in space (like many battles in gundam seed series) even though you're on ground battles most of the time. It's not going to be everyone's go-to mech game tbh - it all comes down to whether you like weighted stompy mechs vs. adrenaline pumped space gundams with more speed and no recoil.

I used to be a big fan of Commandos II: men of courage. One day i bought a random game in sale: Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun for just 2€ or something. Its Just like Commandos. Only in Old Japanese times. The game 22houres +. very good game. Then there Desperado 3. But at launch a bit to expensive (50€). i bought it a month ago for 10€. Its like they made a Japanese style, a western style game and now a pirate style. I wonder what style is next.

In fact I kind of like stealth tactics occasionally. I never finished Commandos (Shame on me.) But I am deep into Japanese lore for Shadow Tactics. I even play it in Japanese with subtitles like a nerd. But Mimimi are outstanding at this type of game. When I am ever through with Shadow Tactics I consider either Western with Desperados III or this for a Pirate Mystery story. Kudos for you to praise a fame of a type, which is of a genre not being your favorite. That's what I like about your videos and reviews. Not so many can appreciate a game, if it is not particularly up their alley. Good job.

I like all three of them Shadow Tactics, Desperados 3 and Shadow Gambit, but Shadow Tactics somehow I liked the most. Also don‘t forget there is the standalone Aiko‘s Choice DLC for Shadow Tactics (on PC only).

I've got this, had it for a week or so. It's pretty good. My only gripe is, when you're killing guards, each of them do this annoying flourish when they kill a guard. All the while another guard on patrol is getting closer and closer, JUST STAB THE PRICK ONCE AND LET ME HIDE THE BODY! 😂

I find the color pallet little offputting it's to neon for me , I preffered Shadow Tactics ,because I enjoy the samurai setting and it makes sense with Ninja , Samurai and Flintlock Ashigaru to be the different game classes

This game kind of reminds me of Commandos Behind Enemy Lines which was a game I loved as a teenager. After the dumpster fire that was Sea Of Thieves, which ruined pirates for me, I think I might give this one a try. I don't like stealth in FPS or 3rd Person view, but in Isometric view I might actually enjoy it.
