Shadow the hedgehog originally he was supposed to die permanently in "Sonic Adventure 2", and it is thanks to the fans themselves that the character returned in the later Sonic video games. Anyway, NO SPOILERS for me regarding the "Sonic 3" movie that I haven't seen yet please.
