Mr.Dennehy was always one of my favourite actors. He was up there with the very best. All his films are eminently watchable. Sadly, he is no longer with us, and the world is a much poorer place for his having left it. Fortunately, we have you tube, where we can still see him in action. He was a real giant, filling the screen with his magnetic presence. RIP, Mr.D, your fans simply adore you.

Brian had such a swagger about him and that little smirk/smile of his it gave the audience an insight into the characters confidence. He made the audience love his character and enjoy the movie. But he was a very scary bad man also he could make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. It is a shame his time is passed. He is missed.

Just to add: many comments here say that Brian Dennehy was underrated as an actor. If you look at the full list of his TV, theatre and film roles it's amazingly long and varied. When did he sleep? If he'd done less and got people to work on his PR he'd have raised his profile as a star. I suspect however that he was dedicated to acting and saw that acclaim as trivial BS.

Angel reminded him of his daughter so much that he became obsessed with the idea that she had had an incestuous relationship with her father. When challenged of this idea he replied "It happens to the best of families no one ever knows" (paraphrasing). He has an estranged daughter who is "messed up" and whom he thinks he would make worse if he contacted, and just why was his daughter so messed up? This is never explained. Seems to have a shady past of defending known criminals and alcohol could it be possible he is projecting his own objectional behaviour onto his client? Or am I so used to seeing him as the bad sleazy corrupt guy that I'm reading way too into it ?😂😂 Great film thank you for the amazing uploads!

Not sure why you would accuse me of"wishful" thinking regarding the possible nature of this character who had a history or alcoholism and defending bad guys, that's a bit strange on your part? Also, you failed to acknowledge that his character seemed to be obsessed with the idea himself which I found very strange and suspicious. Remember, she projected what HE wanted to believe, I merely questioned why since that sickening subject was prevalent throughout the movie.

I watched a different Brian Dennehy film called 'The Perfect Witness' and recognised two actors who also appear in this one - the private detective and the second judge. Mr Dennehy clearly drew the best out of his supporting cast and was loyal to talent when he saw it. I'd say this legal drama was better due to the mysterious character of the two leading women and the lesbian sub-plot between them.
