Hey man. I remember playing this game as a semi-kid when it came out and it brings back SO many memories. Great stuff. One question tho. I remember the game being hard back then. How come it seems the enemies are just staring at you and not doing much on the highest difficulty?

Unfortunately you couldn't always grab the weapon when you wanted to. I can't tell you how many times I got smacked with a Halberd or Schmitar trying to figure out how to grab the damn thing, waiting for moments where the enemy would stop swinging it. Sometimes when you tried to stomp your moves could not continue as the opponent would roll away from your foot too quickly. Trying to execute four hits on the ground was a pain in the ass getting sand thrown in your face nearly 95% of the time to stop you combos. Because of this, I hated this game. Nearly every move was great but it was useless when you kept getting your ass kicked trying to "snatch" a weapon from your opponent. I felt this was flawed in the programming. Sound effects, gory moves, and the voice work were all spot on. Gameplay was a bit too difficult through, especially to get gold trophies. Often it was all left up to "chance" than skill regarding your hit count during matches. The best feature about this was the dismemberment ability if you could catch an enemy just right off guard at an opportune moment. Also the stealth sequences were agonizing tough to beat sometimes as well. And for these reasons, I'm sure this is why a lot of people didn't enjoy this as much as they would have had it been less flawed. If this was ported to PS4 with combat tightened up it would have sold as well as God of War. This is an underrated gem that could be remade better with smoother controls. I feel if there was a button just for grabbing weapons than the same button you attack with, controls would have responded more easily. For example, use R2 to snatch/grab weapons instead of X. X didn't work for crap...
