The staff was one of two items I was praying would be in the DLC. I usually play high level characters with high stats in Intelligence and Faith and I always hated having to swap between catalysts. Glad it's getting at least some recognition.

I wish they'd just made the glowing eye thing into a weightless seal though, because the Great Beyond staff looks a little goofy. At 80/80 though it's a perfectly respectable catalyst too, with a good but not top tier spellpower scaling value. As it should be.

Same I'm the type to level very high up characters with the goal of spreading stats, for dex strength faith and intelligence. Didn't mess with arcane much yet though but got 80 int and 46 faith 55 strength and 59 dex I've leveled alot lol. Level 310 to be specific. I'm happy I have the option for a double catalyst even if it's not as strong sorcery scaling as other staffs/seals.

I started a NG+ run with a Radahn build and was kinda underwhelmed, neither ash of war seemed all that usable. Ended up switching to a Rellana build and having a blast with it.

Spear of the Impaler and Rellana's Twin Blades are definitely my favorites. Their weapon arts are such over the top, anime style nonsense, I love it.

Messmer's ash of war has the added bonus of just flying over a lot of boss moves. It has a built in dodge. Protip for the final boss, at least for all the faithbros out there: So does Scarlet Aeonia. It's exactly as effective as you'd expect it to be given the context. You're welcome.

I think messmers spear has the highest utility in the base game/DLC. Free range option, fire dot damage and you can boost the damage of the throw with the new talisman (for throwing weapons) and the axe talisman. You can stay at range and just chuck your spear at all enemies. Its super cool and very effective against nearly all mobs. Fighting with the spear on torrent against dragons is very fun too. You can easily target their heads and get knockdowns.

Heavy and AoW is really neat but I was hoping the normal combo is different than the usual stab stab attack... I like the way Mesmer uses his weapon... More of a Partisan than a Spear or even Javelins. He swings it well, and fire sparks goes everywhere. I want that... I guess I'll have to wait for a Mod or something...

The strongest DLC weapon is any spear or thrusting sword that can be infused with bleed and a big ol’ greatshield in the left hand.

The Poison Flower Blooms Twice on Antspur Rapier is one of the most busted combos that isn't exploiting some 5 digit overlapping hitbox nonsense. It's not as long as a heavy thrusting sword, but it doesn't need to be.

@@Buhry It's the best rot proc weapon in the game due to its thrusting sword moveset, so it's the easiest way to set up Poison Flower to nuke repeatedly. Poison or blood infusion and you can run kindred without needing the massive faith requirement of Scarlet Aeonia, which is automatically a win.

The sword lance has 111 more AR at 76 strength than the Greatsword. Sword Lance also does 29 more AR than a giant crusher. Praising the weapon for only its ash of war is wild, it hits harder than anything Ive seen in the game plus its pierce damage. If there's a weapon with higher dps than 1k (before shadow blessings) on a heavy thrusting I'd love to know because this seems like the highest I've ever seen

I perfer Midra’s Sword of Damnation, nothing like having a command grab as an ash of war that is also a critical strike as well making it a vigor checker if properly built around to take advantage of its unique property. The ash of war can even cancel out attacks like Waterfowl Dance and Corpsepiler and bypass shields. Has a second input if you miss the grab to shoot spikes out of the ground which will send players or human npcs into the air.

I didn't fall for boss weapons for some reason, looks good but I like good heavy attacks so I took Fire knight greatsword with Flame Spear ash and flame art scalling, wearing messmer helm, using Messmers orb for aoe and Flame spear oh boy it hits hard and the weapon buff looks so awesome, that sword hits like a truck with that buff. Recommend. Though from boss weapons I really like Messmers spear, sad that moveset it horrible but skill compensates it

To people saying Radahn's weapons are bad, I urge you to make a build around them. They can output crazy damage, and with enough poise and health you can make it do some crazy things. My recommendation is the defeat all of the furnace golems as one of them drops a life steal tear, then use consecutive hit boosting talisman and tear, as well as relanna's cameo, a defense talisman, and Shard of Alexander for some extra extra damage. It's really fun. Hope you enjoy! Also remember things like defense and attack buffs like FGMS, GV, and BFP.

All boss weapons are kinda meh. Sunflower hammer is ok and releanna light greats are decent but best dlc weapons are from small bosses or just pick ups in my opinion. I was super disappointed with final boss weapon and mess spear but I’m in later ng plus. Meteoric is my fav bloodfiends arm and guts with bleed spinning ash is def busted. Strength arcane goes off in dlc.

Sunflower is pretty decent if you have the right setup, and the near infinite hyper armor when charging it is pretty cool. I got it where I deal like 6k damage for the first charge slam with an additional 3-4 thousand after so like 10k for the combo

I am very disappointed with 2 of the boss weapons... Well 3, if you count two of the Radahn's weapons... Why were they Magic..? I was using A Faith Caster build, that's the one I enjoyed most and that's what I saw... Another one is Mesmer's. I was hoping the moveset is similar to how he wields it. Nope! It's just the normal stabby stabs weapon... No slashes... Meanwhile, Mesmer does it so well with his weapon. It's more of a Partisan than a Spear. So the moveset he used against us, is way cooler but when we get it, nope. It's disappointing.

I wish we got an actual Frenzied Flame blade. A scythe atleast. With a dope ash of war and that did frenzy flame dmg. The spear we got in the base game is so mid imo. The move set just sucks to me. The fists we got now are also just fists. I wish they were of the new hand to hand version of fists. Hopefully next time.
