I don't know what is the series' lore, but my best guess is that Trinity is a group seeking artifacts to stop the incarnation of a god/angel of death (aka Lara), and while everyone including Lara think that she is just a very lucky sociopath with an obssesion to a certain type of artifacts, she is in fact subconciously drawn to these artifacts because they are the secret to stopping her from ending every life on earth.

Moray Eel?!?!!!??? Come on, seriously? Lara is in the Amazon jungle and you finally have the opportunity to do anacondas and yet you go with another animal that’s similarly looking yet not found in the Amazon. (Freshwater electric eels are not the same as the game’s moray eel). Hope there’s at least caiman or crocodiles in this game too.
