"Zog, also known as Zog The Eternal, is an Uruk necromancer and one of the main antagonist of the Carnán Quest Line in Middle-earth: Shadow of War.
He was once a loyal servant of the Dark Lord Sauron, and was sent by his master to Gorgoroth in order to ressurect the Balrog Tar Goroth and become a commander in his armies. With the united efforts of Carnan, Celebrimbor and Talion, Tar Goroth was defeated, yet Zog returned to bring him once again back from the dead, however this time for himself not for Sauron.
After his second defeat at the hands of Talion, Zog was brought back to life by his acolytes in Minas Morgul, where he told the other orcs, that they conquered and fought in the city, they made Mordor what it is, not Sauron not his Nazgul lieutenant, the Witch-king of Angmar, and urged his fellow brethen to join his new army promising to make Mordor theirs and bring forth all the dead."

Zog broke for me after i killed him. When it zooms out to show his corpse he just got back up and started attacking me during the cutscene. He was still attacking after the cutscene and he was unkillable. He would fall then just rise up again. A true Necromancer

They were either lazy and decided to reuse zog's look for that orc to not do another one or its zog, seeing talion but he doesnt care about that moment since he got his own plans

Had him come back once and that was it. Thing is he was nothing. As in the only thing that existed was his armor that covered his body, his glowing green eyes. But no face, had his hands and arms I think but that's it. I know it was a glitch but that just made him spooky as heck since hes undead.

It makes a lot of sense that Zog takes more damage and is dazed from fire: his body is not living, so if his body burns he can't resurrect. Good job developers for that little detail.

Absolutely hilarious to me that they snuck in a creature called "zog the eternal". It only gets funnier when he is described as a "cursed undead trickster", an "acolyte from the mystic tribe", "you can't convert him", and "he will forever be your enemy" (these are all quotes from the wiki page). ho shit, Zog never came back after his storyline finished in my game. I'm glad they added an additional voice line for that moment, but still kinda pooped that he reverts back to generic orc quotes after that permanently.

Yea, after his death on final mission he will come back ambushing if you do your stuff around the map for like 30mins to 1 hour later but many still never get him to ambush/come back alive though so its still majorly dictated by the nemesis system. The dev can only implement so much quotes so it makes sense as time goes his quote will back to the generic one, basically recycle.

Lord Of The Rings. The common ancestor of every fantasy where in dwell orcs. The first of its kind. At the height of the evolution of orcs they finally managed to get their skin right to handle sunlight. They were stronger then humans. Had the ability to survive eating what can kill a goat. Very resistant to disease and poison. Best of all the orcs were cunning, clever, and tactical. They were essenally super humanoid evil geniuses. It is for that reason when other fantasy writers adopted this idea many made them stupid.

If you look carefully, after he rises from the dead, his facial hair color is different and he has a slightly skinnier build. In other words, that's not his original body, his soul just inhabited another dead orc. No wonder he can come back even after all the dead bodies are burned to ashes. You really will never get rid of Zog.

I did the Zog quests and then finished the game, fully including the shadow wars. I was getting sort of bored and I was just going around butchering every Captain I could find and putting my followers in the fight pits for my entertainment. One day, I was walking through my fortress in Gorgoroth when guess who shows up? ZOG! I had no idea he could come back after the quests but i was glad to see him. I had my minions fight him and came in for the occasional nab. Eventually one of the warchiefs bodyguards came and shoved a fire bomb in his mouth and blew him to pieces. He got a promotion and well, no one's seen Zog for a while so.

I sliced Zog in two during the final Carnaan mission and now he's back and he's hunting me in lithlad. He appeared when I was fighting both ockers. Feels bad. I wish you could brand him, I LOVE his astethic and Necromancers are balls hard to find.

The game story isn't that long but what makes the game unique was it's core system aka nemesis system where it randomly generates variation of orc personalities and appearances. Because I'm on the pilgrimage of trying to hunt down all of them so from audience perspective it might seem like never ending but it's really just grinding on the system to meet new orc :)

Getting back into another Shadow of War binge and just thinking on how a sequel would be, Zog the Eternal would probably be the perfect protagonist. He already can come back from the dead, he's an orc, his movement is for the orcs and the undead to rise against Sauron, he's already established as a reoccurring character, etc. Even his necromancy can be a starter skill players can use when they don't have living orcs under their command, which could be expanded as you go through the game.

I always wanted him to be an even bigger character instead of the typical "I was raised from the dead by the Dark Lord to do his bidding" blabla....It would have been better if they gave him the egoistic such as wanting to topple the Dark Lord and plotted to infiltrate Talion's recruits and depths instead of the typical villain char.

It’s a shame that Zog wasn’t able to join Talion army but there are glitches where he can and thers actually dialog for him when he’s saves you. Zog is really cool

I played 6 games , and Zog ambush me after 120 hours in the first game , never come back in the next games , and re-ambush me just today , on Minas Morgul Because I was borring , I was building the stronger army ever in this map ( 1 giant army with only slayer , berserk and the tank and assassin who impressed me ) so , because I wanted to heard one or two lines of Zog , I had to protect him from my guys like a little baby After that , I take him with HBE and place him in Seregost , and he become my bodygard He BETRAYED me the second I called him So , little adventure to recruit the guys in the left side of Zog to re-recruit him ... I can't believe it is onlh the first day with him ... It's because all of that I went on this video Thanks for all the time you spend for us !

Shelob having the ability to change her form to appear as a hawt goth milf, for example, would be a great addition. Being the direct offspring of Ungoliant, who was one of the only beings outside of the Valar who was able to directly challenge Melkor and actually threaten to destroy him, you would think that the ability to polymorph for Shelob would be child's play.

Hell many more were only barely touched than being realization in the canon so yea definitely get the idea there. Personally, I would like to see the backstory and details of the Black Captain; Hammer, Tower, Mouth of Sauron and Black Captain leader since they were touched abit by lore regarding erm as from Numenoreans origin (whichs the first age of human with superpowaa). Except the former Celebrimbor has a morale code, he gives Talion the second chance to live so both of erm could retaliate against the dark lord, he also cares for Talion, he understood him and Talion shared similar fate and both willing to go extra miles just for coexisting. UNTIL the arrival of someone so called...Elta something then Celebrimbor swiftly change his attitude 180, thrown his code away so the newcomer could be justified to wield the ring that once saved Talion's life so that the newcomer could be treated as the new torch of Middle earth savior...
