yeah, i've been a spriest main since classic. absolutely love the playstyle and utility of priest. shadow word death is one of the coolest abilities(even though its clearly op rn in pvp) although also have a melee class as an alt is *chef's kiss*

i just took a cookie cutter build from a site, im going to stop putting points into imp VT and maybe a point out of Shadow Reach and try either 4/5 or 5/5 into imp MB. I noticed sometimes running my rotation that I'm stuck for like .5 sec before MB is back up, so definitely having 4/5 or 5/5 will help and I'm also gonna try Twisted Faith on the next lock out!

What is your typical spell rotation on boss fight vs trash? I just switched my priest to shadow and am trying to find the best order of my rotation.

for boss i like to either precast mind blast or mind spike into shadow word death(to put it on CD since it does so much dmg rn) then homunculi, get your dots rolling, and your fiend if it's a short fight(extra damage). Then just rinse and repeat with 3-4 cast of Mind Spike into Mind Blast for the crits! for trash, i use separate gear pieces for shared pain and mind sear(which is a pain!) because i always forget to swap back for the boss lmao

welcome the the dark side :) so just looking at the top logs it seems that mage/warlock are currently the best casters rn. It's looking like fire mage > destro warlock > spriest in terms of rotation i personally like spriest the most, but i just love mindblast and shadow word death lol

I have been having problems with shadow with aggro, even with full threat reduction talents and spamming fade. Any advice? Is this a tank issue or should I just not cast mind blast as much?

Are you using Vampiric Embrace? It's probably giving you extra healing threat that you might not need if the group is solid. Otherwise I think ally have the benefit of blessing of salv, since mana isn't an issue for spriests anymore. There's also a chest enchant for tanks that acts as thorns which would be good idea if they don't have it yet

Not much I can do as a resto shaman at that point. They use 2 ability and dead. I'll do it for the coins then not gonna do it unless it's a bit more balanced. My reflexes arnt like they used to be

It is crazy how many groups do all this extra work on the adds during grubbis when none of them matter for parsing. If there is a cloud up, you don't have to dps them at all. Just drag them into the cloud and they both go away.

I just got my priest to 40 and I've seen conflicting info, do you hold onto Mind Blast until you have 3 stacks of Mind Spike on the target, or do you just use Mind Blast on cooldown no matter what?

it's situational, but generally ofc you want it to crit for more dps. it's all rng at the end of the day. i'm no expert and just do what feels right lol
