Seems correct almost everything, but the main reason humans are actually able to stand a chance against the nightmare creatures is the nightmare spell really, acording to the novel the nightmare spell gave humans all the aspects, the memories and even hurried the process to understand those adquiered powers, I think than before considering all humans as beast there should be a previous meassurement of the aspects each human has

tbh i think the differences between the ranks should be higher, there is no way 12 sleepers could kill a saint, and the sovereign sunny killed on the tomb of ariel wasnt just weakened, it was straight up one foot in the grave. its mentioned later in the novel that daeron's pinnacle power level wasn't even remotely close to what he was like when sunny killed him. If i made a list of the ranks i would make it as follows: Sleeper: 10 points Awakened: 100 points Ascended: 1000 points Transcendent: 12000 points Supreme: 200000 points Sacred: above 3M points Divine: above 100M points (g3 said that an unholy beast can singlehandedly eat the moon, also, the tomb of ariel, which was made out of the corpse of an unholy titan, was straight up comparable to the size of the solar system)

thats.. More like it 💥🔥🔥🔥 but, It is only for humans... Nightmare creatures have more cores, hence their 'class' matters.. Corrupted Terror is more dangerous than a Mindless Great Beast ! Sunny can kill Great beast in a one strike, but he has to use all his weapons to kill Corrupted terrors... Not to mention, Corrupted Titan is atleast 5x stronger than a Great Beast !!

While the point system is useful to comparing Nightmare Creatures, it doesn't apply to humans at all. Three Masters can't beat a Saint - at minimum, it would take 50. Mind, this is partly because of other force multipliers you mentioned - Memories, Attributes, and techniques.

The table for the ranks are a bit of an iffy indicator of power for nightmares, I think they seriously underplay the difference in ranks even amongst lower class nightmares, like how the great beast is the equivalent of a fallen demon yet a saint got severely injured fighting one

I think you meant corrupted demon. Because a fallen demon is something masters can deal with and a saint would smoke. If your refering to the saint who faught winter beast, winter beast was a corrupted titan, titans are... Unique to say the least in the classes. But the reason a corrupted demon would give a saint more trouble than a great monster is how the classes function. A great beast has a lot more raw power than a corrupted demon, but it's just that, a beast. Beasts are more or less mindless while demons posses intelligence. It's how, among other reasons, saint was able to survive and encounter with nightmare creatures a whole rank above her.

Ok so I am writting this comment as I am watching the video, so I will go by buller points : - Great video, nice an slow explanation, love it! It's always great to see more Shadow Slave content! - During your presentation of the ranks and classes, you say that the really power difference between NCs is in their class, not their rank. I disagree with this interpretation, the power difference between a Corrupted Devil and a Great Devil is more important than the difference between a Corrupted Devil and a Corrupted Tyrant in my opinion. I think a good exemple would be the Fall of Falcon Scott, where Goliath, although seemingly more destructive than the Terror of LO49, is probably weaker than the latter, and one is a Fallen Titan, where one is a Corrupted Terror (but this exemple is not the best, considering that Goliath has all of his powers focused on destructive power and resistance, while the Terror of LO49 is fully focused on a mind hex...). - I really like the numbers you gave to the human ranks! feel like it is a really good reflection of the power difference that exist between each ranks! (I have no idea what we can expect for Sacred and Divine, so I cannot give any opinion on your speculation, these numbers are huge tho!). I believe that you may be scaling Divine a little too high in destructive power tho, as we know that Gods and Daemons are probably beings above the divine, and the Shadow Slave verse probably does not scale super high in termes of sheer fire power. I think the difference between Supreme and Sacred & Sacred and Divine will probably focus on concept manipulation more than sheer destructive power, which you illustrated really well when talking about the gap between supreme and sacred. (The concept manipulation is also shown by the Vile Thieving Bird Cutting Sunny's strings of fate) - Ok so the numbers you used corrected your first point where you said that the main power difference between NC came from their classes and not their ranks, nice! - Final point, I think that the numbers hold true when considering lower class/rank NC and humans, but cannot really be applied to higher beings, some creatures have powers that naturally hold an advantage against others, sometimes invalidating the numbers I think. I don't think he over scaling the divine classes. Considering the vile thieving bird, a cursed terror was Abel to pull the strings of fate right off sunny and sneak past a gaurdian of ariel. And considering how the power gap between ranks grows much larger with each rank. And also with knowing that a cursed being has a massive influence on the world(in nephis and sunny's fight with a cursed demon). It would make sense for a unholy NC to be very destructive

You can't undermine the true strength of a Supreme rank. It was mentioned that Sunny barely survived his battle against the Serpent King, and the only reason he managed to do so was because the Great Beast was already on verge of dying after many straining battles against other Great Beast and Great Monsters. Later, Sunny admitted himself upon seeing Twilight that Serpent King's power was only a small fraction of the former Daeron's power at his peak.

I’m listening to your video and I’ll have to correct you on something at 5:00 about the weakened supreme Daeron Daeron was equivalent to a great monster, he isn’t a weakened supreme but a supreme without a domain Nephis said a new born supreme is basically a very powerful saint, but what makes a supreme truly cataclysmic is how developed their domain is, if someone like neph became a new supreme by doing a nightmare she would be instantly killed by any of the other supremes due to the amount of power one gains from holding a domain So daeron would be considered a new born supreme in power in other words inconsequentially powerful saint which was nephis exact words Just giving info where it’s needed ^^

Here’s my thought on the class difference with divine aspect holders It isn’t multiplicative but additive Beast sunny is 10 so as a monster he would get another core which is 10 so 20 as a demon he’s gets another core making him 30 and as the class goes up the only physical strength boost as a titan he would get is 70 but his essence pool is unspeakably large due to being a titan Also the Vile Thieving bird was a special nightmare creature just like ravenous fiend and Stone saint who shouldn’t be able to kill stuff with higher rank and class than her

Bro you are right but you forget something that is Awakened absorbing soul fragments to increase core capacity they can absorb 1000 fragments That's means the humans Awakened fully saturated core power 10× of Awakened beast It means morgan and sunny fight morgan core is fully saturated the calculation is Ascended=40 fully saturated core=10 Beast=10 Morgan total points=(40×10)×10= 4000 Sunny Awakened-Demon total points= 3200

Nightmare Creatures don't gain much power from ranks.. they gain power from their class and num of cores.. a Awakened Tyrant has more abilities than Ascended Demon..

Tyrants and Terrors, etc are way more strategic than Average Humans.. Sunny mentioned it quite often that Fighting N.C of Class Devil is like fighting a Human..

I think we need to factor Aspects for humans, this is also a huge part of why they are able to fight Nightmare creatures. Aspect also scale with ranks. And although from devil onwards Nightmare creatures get powers, it's still not comparable to Aspects (at least until they get to Terrors). Also Sunny, Nephis and Mordret are able to fight against some higher ranks, just not all of them. Like Morgan is a top tier warrior not your run of the mill dreamer, not even your run of the mill legacy. And on multiple occasions, Sunny, Nephis and Mordret have beaten humans from higher ranks As for recently, since the only Supremes are all top tier warrior and the gap between ranks grows larger making it hard for the cores to bridge that gap then yes you could say that human ranks are absolute

True.. But, Aspects come various different types and also the user is very responsible for how they use it.. Like Kai has the Crowd Control ability but he rarely uses it in battlefield.. So making a comparison table for aspects would be so hard and unreal

But this lead me a question as to why Mimic who was a fallen devil was running away from the wormvine who was a corrupted monster. Your charts says corrupted monster is 4800 while fallen devil is 6400. So a mimic should be able to handle a wormvine. Unless the wormvine are more dangerous because the novels says it has a ability to attack and eat souls. Perhaps the mimic can’t counter that.

This video works as a great basic summary of the power system but it is completely missing one core aspect (quite literally) of the power system-Aspects. Humans, while not having classes, do have Aspects (something that NCs dont have). That is the main reason why Humans can fight nightmare creatures of higher classes. You fail to account for the Aspects of humans and the ranks of the aspects. Aspects aren't just divided into "normal" and "divine". Rather, each aspect has a rank, from sleeper to divine. It's just that divine aspects are rather special. But there is still a huge difference between, for example, an ascended aspect and a sacred aspect. If you assigned to aspects the same points as classes, all of a sudden it would start making a bit of sense why humans are able to fight such high-class NCs and it would be able to be shown numerically. Of course, humans have other advantages. For example, every human has an inherent advantage against NCs lower than devil class (it is only at devil that NCs become as intelligent as humans, so before that they are quite dumb). Humans are also able to easily increase their power even without increasing their rank through training,having better Memories,having their Soul Core filled,being more skilled, more scheming, and the like. Of course there also for example Aspects or memories that counter or get counter by other aspects/memories/NCs but that starts becoming a bit too complex and unneeded for a basic explanation of the power system.

@@slav7571 Yeah.. Aspects are divided in Utility and Fighting... so it does help.. But, in my opinion Aspect Ranks don't really matter in Human Comparisons too... Even if an Divine Aspect User like Sunny is a Master.. He can cannot defeat a Dormant/ Ascensed Aspect User, Saint Tyris or Any Saint (Yeah he can stand and fight them but not win).. Divine Rank Awakened Sunny cannot even defeat Master Morgan (he got killed in like 20 seconds) .. So, Ranks like Awakened, Ascended, Transcendent are the only means of comparison in Humans. Tell me a Name of any random Master with any aspect who can kill a Saint and tell me the Saint name too.. How will he kill and where. I think there is nobody ... (Don't include Nephis, Sunny or Mordret they are heavily Plot armoured and Got Divine Lineage and peak Titanic class powers)

So they become monster, demon, devil, etc.. thats the reason sunny is Transcendant Terror right now.. while Anvil is a Supreme Beast.

Yeah.. The chart is little flawed.. i am trying to comeup with new one... Sleeper aka Dreamer is a rank name buddy.. Tell me the first rank name then..? it is the rank you get after your first nightmare.. (thats the reason Awakened is second rank, ascended is third, etc upto rank 7 Divine) they can receive memories and echoes.. So they are stronger than dormant humans.. for example.. as a sleeper sunny killed a Great Devil VTB spawn egg and received Blood Weave..

In the awakening process without the spell they can't make a soul core before they awaken, so it's the spell's thing that humans get dormant rank per se. You could say that the state of being enhanced by essence(through killing/absorbing) before awakening represents dormant rank without the nightmare spell.

Well, back to your first statement it's actually not true-not once do we have a pov of a mundane human from earth being killed and nightmare spell calling them dormant. And even if they were dormant that wouldn't make dreamer not to even mention sleeper an actual valid rank. We may not have directly seen any animal but they were mentioned a lot ie. cows in the farm, birds in the city, cats and dogs as pets etc. and overall are/were present in the setting and they sure were not said to have bullet-resistant properties of dormant nightmare creatures who are coincidentally responsible for "taking over the world" during the descent of the nightmare spell.

@@lumuabaasi3896 Yeah... He can defeat an Ascended Human with a Minor Aspect, like an Ascended Tailor or Carpenter.. But, Awakened Sunny cannot defeat an Ascended Warrior with a Fighting Capability.. Same with Master Sunny, he was not even comparable to Fighting a Saint like Tyris or Direfang... Saint Sunny cannot defeat Sovereign Anvil who has only one Core !!
