@@cbsteffen yeah, but having to replay the whole story just because they don't tell us that you have to lose is frustrating

So frustrating I wasted a full playthrough because you have to wait for a dumb timer to go neutral. It doesn't even make sense-- if Sonic got there first, he'd take the emerald. One of my favorite levels in the game, but Neutral needed a different mission.

And I believe there's a delay between when that Sonic timer hits zero and the words "Hero Mission: Failed" pop up on screen. A friend of mine waited for the timer to expire, but touched the Emerald soon after and still got the Hero Mission completed. She was livid and wanted to set my Wii (which I play the game on) on fire. We were in college playing this, lol. Update: Just make completely sure. She hit it at exactly 5 minutes and it gave her the Hero mission. Wait for those three words.
