But still she was right here. In season 4 and 5 she is mostly right, and wants to do a right thing, however she manipulates people to achive it. She is in my top 5 of characters in She-ra maybe even top 3. Really like her as a villain and as a protagonist

The way Shadow Weaver uses touch and intimacy in order to manipulate is sad. It makes you think people care about you. Look at the way Glimmer and Catra lean in to her caress. They are starved for a mother's love, each of them, in their own way.

It's from the She-Ra Q&A panel with Aimee Carrero, AJ Michalka and Karen Fukuhara during Emerald City Comic Con 2021 two weeks back! There should be mirrors of it uploaded on KZbin ;D

Karen Fukuhara is a great voice actress. Too bad she didn't actually say this in the show. Also, Shadow Weaver was completely right. If she hadn't mentioned Angella, she might have actually stopped Glimmer from doing something as stupid as activating a planet sized super weapon. You know what, a considerable amount of the last 2 seasons consisted of "Shadow Weaver is right". And yet she's still treated like the bad guy.

she is bad lol
@CharlotteSWeb-oh7ou2 жыл бұрын
Oh. It's you. She's a serial child abuser who's coincidentally right in this singular instance, which is entirely based on her own selfish ends. She was thoroughly fine with Glimmer using the weapon, her objection was to Scorpia connecting with the Black Garnet and usurping her. It seems like you didn't really pay attention to the show.

@@CharlotteSWeb-oh7ou Still stalking me, huh? That's very flattering but I prefer women with brains. Shadow Weaver's motivation doesn't change the fact that she's completely right here. Or several times in Season 5.
@MeemahSN2 жыл бұрын
@@tomnorton4277 it doesn’t matter whether or not she’s right, what makes her bad here is that she’s stepping too far and being insensitive about Angela’s death. Just because a person is right doesn’t mean they’re good

Shadow Weaver was also right to tell Adora to stay away from Catra in Season 5. And to point out that Catra's a hypocrite for calling her evil. And to almost literally throw herself onto a bomb to protect her kids, as any half decent mother would. Shadow Weaver got a better redemption arc than Catra. Ironically, it was done by accident because it was never meant to be a redemption arc. Ever noticed that when she warned Adora about her relationship with Catra, Shadow Weaver was willingly discarding her best weapon for manipulating Adora? She's been benefitting from Adora's relationship with Catra since they were children but in Season 5, she tried to talk Adora out of it for her own good. The only part of Season 5 Shadow Weaver that I'm not sure I agree with was the decision to not tell Adora what she was walking into with the failsafe. However, I think that Shadow Weaver's reasons for that were actually logical, not malicious. She didn't want Adora dead but she has an excellent understanding of psychology so she knew that Adora wasn't likely to be focussed and clear headed if she thought she was going to die. If Adora didn't have the fear of death distracting her, she had a better chance of achieving the level of focus that she needed for She Ra to carry her through. A good chunk of the last 2 seasons consists of "Shadow Weaver was right". I have far more respect for her now than I did while I was watching the series.
@julytopia2 жыл бұрын
@@tomnorton4277 No, Shadow Weaver wasn't right to tell Adora to stay away from Catra. At that point, Catra had become good and wanted to help Adora. Shadow Weaver was jealous because Adora and Catra had become friends again, and nobody liked Shadow Weaver, not even Glimmer anymore.
@tomnorton42772 жыл бұрын
@@julytopia Catra never became good. She only switched sides because she knew she was completely out of her depth with Horde Prime. She continued to gaslight and manipulate Adora and even abandoned her in Failsafe whilst still having the audacity to accuse Adora of leaving. The only difference was that Catra was getting rewarded for her shitty behaviour. She never actually changed, the show just bent over backwards to trick people into thinking that she did.
