I watched this video and noticed your lack of VENOM BURST in this rotation and was very upset. Otherwise I gained 50 IQ and can now solo carlos at lv10 much appreciate

Awesome and straightforward video, casting Terms and Conditions first to maximize Last Resort and Ring of Restraint use is not something I considered. I also tested 3min rotations, and I have one possible improvement. Instead of holding Shadow Veil (SV) until 135s for Sonic Blow (SB), one could cast SV right at 105s and then again at 165s; going for this 3rd SV cast, however, would mean that the 4th SB won't be in SV, resulting in SB losing out on Dark Sight (DS)-boosted damage. The decision comes down to which deals more damage: (1) No DS SB + 24s of DS-boosted Assassinate and Meso Explosion (ME), or (2) 12s of DS-boosted Assassinate, ME, and SB + 12s of no DS Assassinate and ME. I found (1) to do more damage. In other words, I found going for 3 total SV casts at 45s, 105s, and 165s but missing out on one DS-boosted SB did more damage. This option also makes all your cooldowns end at 180s, which looks neat :) Did you try doing 3 SV casts? What did you get? The dmg difference between (1) and (2) ultimately isn't that large, so poor execution could sway the conclusion. -- Just if you're interested in a finer calculation, the comparison above seemingly simplifies to just looking at the following: (a) No DS-boosted SB + 12s of DS-boosted Ass and ME, or (b) DS-boosted SB + 12s of no DS Ass and ME. But casting SB in SV means you lose out on 2.5s of DS-boosted Ass + ME (and casting SB outside of SV means you lose out on 2.5s of no DS Ass + ME). So the real comparison between 3 SV casts vs 2 SV casts is (x) No DS-boosted SB + 14.5s of DS-boosted Ass and ME, or (y) DS-boosted SB + 14.5s of no DS Ass and Me. I found (a) and (x) to both deal more damage than (b) and (y). So in all three comparisons, the 3 SV version does more damage than the 2 SV version.

thanks, nice work also! you're right from a numbers point of view, my testing also showed 1/a/x did slightly more damage than 2/b/y i decided not to go with it because the difference was small and since this is targeted to bossing specifically, it would remove any flexibility if you're delayed by boss attack patterns (then end up doing less damage)

Great video! I find myself using Dark Flare before Maple Goddess' Blessing and Epic Adventurer given that it's affected by minion duration increase from things like Monster Life and Corsair Legion card. Is there a particular reason to use it after those two buffs or is there not much of a difference?

my biggest fear of playing shad is putting down smokescreen too early and then the boss moving out of it before I can bind. How exactly does the buff work? Do you need to be in it or the boss? I see the buff timer in the top right for it and I just pray I get it.

over time you can predict where the bosses will be so it shouldn't happen too much! the boss needs to be in it for the extra crit damage, you/your party needs to be in it for the damage reduction. the buff bar just tells you when it's expiring even if you're not inside it.

Yes! Only difference is you can right click Last Resort to lock it so you only need to press it once.

Hi if I’m trying to do a burst on a boss with bind, where do you throw bind in for this rotation?

usually just before RoR, but bosses that can disappear for ages like lotus/lucid you may want to bind earlier for safety

it makes ssf have no cast animation and you get extra damage from the nate

isn’t ror4 and 2x last resort longer than ab link? Should we use ab link after thise two?

yeah ab link doesn't last as long, i said pop buffs longest to shortest duration but it's not entirely true. last resort and ror4 give WAY better buffs, so it's more important you don't waste them with the long cast animation of ab link!
