For people saying that Shadowheart was Dark Urge in Early Access, you are wrong. Tav was separated from Dark Urge at one point in EA, but he was always Dark Urge because he is the main character. The dreams we had in EA also talk about our character, that he has bloodlust, etc. The voices talking in Shadowheart's head were probably a separate plot that was then abandoned (like many others, such as Raven Queen). Saying Shadowheart was Dark Urge makes no sense. Edit: As someone else said in the comments - voices were from the artefact.

What if everyone was supposed to be a Bhaalspawn? Think about it. The first two games had two Bhaalspawn characters. Baldur's Gate 3 might have been about these guys coming together from the start. Damn that would have been interesting. At any point, you might be shanked by someone, and whoever you neglect as a companion might try to kill you because there is nothing compelling them to act against Bhaal. And then Tav would make sense because he wouldn't be so different from everyone and effectively a faceless character

Not really, God's in the world of DnD come in a wide range, in this case Shadowheart "worship's" Shar. Shar is an evil goddess, also known as goddess of the moon, she uses illusions lies and deceit, some of her followers are brainwashed and based on Shadowheart's designed she is most likely one of them (while her armour and tiara are cool looking you can see details such as chains that look kinda restricting)

This scene completely changes my perspective of her. I thought that she had the magical equivalent of dissociative amnesia, but this could be magical dissociative identity disorder. She isnt suffering from an identity disorder. The whispers are simply the Absolute mind controlling her. I assume this scenario happens if you somehow took the prism from her and told her to go on her own at the start of the game. So essentially she is becoming like the other true souls like Minthara, Dror Ragzlin etc. Because the prism protects the player from not just becoming a mind flayer but also the mind control. But the prism doesnt instantly take away the Absolute’s voice as was the case for Minthara. Unknowingly you spend a prolonged time close to her when you raid the grove. So by the time you celebrate victory with her in camp she no longer hears the whispers either and partly returns to her old self when she shares a romantic monent with the player.

There's hints that character was meant to be more messy in a prior version, that's also probably why they're so vague once you meet them, a chunk of their personality got cut. And seeing how Shadowheart is a lot more stubborn than most, I can imagine them going full "YOU WON'T SLEEP TILL YOU OBEY" on them. Lae'zel too but she joins you asap anyway so no need for torture by the guardian.

Well if you have a relic and she have not. There could been such a scene. Or if she still has a relic and is far away, that you and your party members would all slowly go mad. It would have made such a better sense lore-wise. Because you might feel thst this relic csn do something but you would be not sure and after she shields you wirh it on a bridge to goblins camp it could have been a big relief. Well no. Dark Urge was the original player character. Shadowheart was either led there by the artefact (at this point, the Emperor was not yet revealed as a character. It's unclear if he was designed at all at the time), or she was another bhaalspawn and not a selunite.

Doubt. As far as I know, default Tav was supposed to be Dark Urge (without making it separate origin). I think it was Daisy speaking to Shadowheart, somehow. Or... it was just plot line which was abandoned later in development.
