Being someone's first is TERRIFYING, especially when you care about someone as much as Magnus cares about Alec. Because THE FIRST is always SPECIAL, especially because Magnus is Alec's first everything when it comes to relationships. And Magnus isn't the type of a man to take such an honor lightly. (Which is why he's hesitant before their first time in the next episode.) Besides, Alec's reaction to Magnus's number had to hurt, especially after how visibly hard it was on Magnus to reveal it... :( They're both at their most vulnerable, here. It's an awkward moment, but one that helped their relationship develop and grow. :)

L understand it's too much preassure for Magnus for it to be a special first time, but about Alec reaction to Magnus's number i think it was more intimidating for Alec than hurtful for Magnus.
